Another dreadful day here. Rain and drizzle. Cool temperature. Windy.

I did see a forecast on the BBC last night suggesting that this Atlantic flow might be changing. With a chance of High Pressure building over us.

There is a chance of a 36-48 hour window of settled, warm conditions next Wednesday to midday Friday, then possibly unsettled again after that.

I'm not bothering with the models showing a drier, warmer interval next week into the middle of August due to how disastrous previous attempts have been.

Another horrible day in Donegal, cool, windy, dark and wet. Fields are all waterlogged from the never ending train of heavy showers all week

was sunny here for a while in the afternoon after a wet morning, but the dryness didn't last long, a few more showers followed later in the afternoon.

Watching the racing there in Galway seemed to be torrential rain for a time.

No rain here tonight but a pretty miserable evening. Dull overcast breezy so unsummerlike very very autumnal. Really disappointing.

Drizzling rain here too now after a very dry breezy sunny day when the morning front left
    Peaked over 19 c
Currently 15 c and feeling warm,Not autumnal at all to be honest

    What an island!

Are there any signs of an improvement in the next week or two?

These are what the models are showing right now

GFS: Azores High building up to us by Wednesday 9th but an unsettled and cool period up to then. Low pressure pushing in for the weekend into the west but thereafter, the high builds back in with increasing temperatures.

ECMWF: Azores High building up to us is delayed to the weekend but overall not that big of an influence compared to the GFS with the jet stream over the north and west. Fairly unsettled but warm is what this model is showing.

Dry, bright, breezy and warm here? Ground is still damp though after the torrential showers of yesterday evening and last night.

    Heavy shower now
I don't know if I'll ever get the lawn cut again
It's not going to be a pleasant job whenever the day comes anyway

today just couldn't end on a dry note, dirty wet evening here again. The grass now has it's full shade of green back everywhere.
