Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Preview. In a shady corner in a McWetherspoons in deepest darkest Caledonia we eavesdrop on a conversation between a thistle and a leek.....

Och aye the noo Glyn, how about the game tomorrow?
I dunno, Jock. We haven't been as sharp plus you've looked good thus far.
Aye, laddie. I hear that you're going to watch the game with the Prince of Wales to it? Did he get you a ticket?
No, I'm going TO the Prince of Wales to watch it.
Well, with no Warren G have ya a bonny wee chance, taff?
Like we haven't played well but you've lost your Laidlaw boyo; that' gotta hurt. Sure he beat Ireland on his own.
Ah noooo, he's a big loss but he's no' the William Wallace, like yoooor Warren G.
But theses days he's yoor Barry John, Jock.
Aye, he's a brae wee lad but we've a team of them, oor Tartan Army. We've Andy Hogg for one. And Tim Visser is back.
    visser.jpg
So you breed them well in the highlands?
Beefier than our hairy cows, Taffy.
Adam Jones has a better barnet then those moo moo's.
He has bigger boobies then them as well!
    GeorgeN.jpg

Sure you are good with the jokes boyo but we've always had it better than you guys. Plenty of backs. Sure, George North's fit again. Plus we've funny comedians. Like Max Boyce.
And we have the Big Yin. And what of our Walkers Shooortbrid?
We've the Bread of Heaven. Feed me till I want no more, want no more.....
Enough of your hymns. Save them for your sheep's wedding.
And our Snowdon, it is a fine mountain.
Ben Nevis would beg to differ. Anyhow. Oooor John Barclay is captaining us. The second coming of Ivan Tukelo is that fine lad.
    John+Barclay+fVedj78rVVMm.jpg

So good that he works making Sosphan Bach's for us.
What about Josh Strauss? He's a bonnie wee 8 for us.
How many cans of Irn Bru did he drink to qualify to play for you?
As many as pints of Brains that your Falaetau did, I guess.
    Taulupe-Faletau-Newport-2015_3318826.jpg?20150625164807

That's low, ya tartan hoarding Sassanach. He's as Welsh as Caerphilly Cheeese!!
Big words, leek sucker. Speaking of cheese, will Liam Williams light a fire on the high wing or the low wing?
Oh Yakki Dah, he'll make cheesecake of of your Visser. Sure, wee Jimmy Krankie's more man than he...
How dare you! But let's be honest. We did well to beat Ireland but you almost bate the Sassanachs out of their chariot so the ghost of Bill McClaren would wager money on Wales to win by about ten points. So let's no fight, have a wee dram of our finest grain!
Yeah boyo, as long as we beat the English and get drunk on fine Highland malt Wiskey
Would ya like a wee song, Glyn.
Ah go on boyo, a good Welsh song. Do ya know Delilah?
    Of course we do.....

Their 10 year losing record against Wales has to come to an end someday. I feel it will be today.

Completely forgot Laidlaw was crocked when I stuck money on Scotland. Hope the kids don't blame me when they can't go college.

You need to talk to a help group if you're gambling the kids college fund.

Very niggly game already. Some slightly dangerous rucking from Wales at times but not getting picked up.

Definitely going to be handbags here.

Price did well there to save the try

Great write up, I understood some of it.

Presume we're completely up for Scotland here?

Means Wales are out in two weeks time and Scotland will still be in with a chance facing England.

So many silly errors from the Scottish backs wasting the good work from their pack.

Watching this Scottish team I'm dreading the prospect of Cotter/Schmidt teaming up against us somewhere some day.

Stop that fecking music! There's a match on! ... ok thanks.

Scots seem to be lying all over the place in defensive rucks and not rolling away properly after tackles.

Are there another two weeks to the next match?

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

How was that not a penalty against Samson Lee? Sprinted in from distance and launched himself over the ruck.

Are there another two weeks to the next match?

Yup. March 10th, Wales vs Ireland, a Friday night match.

    I don't get Leigh Halfpenny.

Commentators absolutely cream themselves when he executes fairly basic things. I see a solid full back and nothing more.

The maul stated off a caught kick so it's a scrum to Scotland. Wrong call Clancy.

Edit: it led to a try, be pretty pissed off if I was a Scotland fan.

    Extremely harsh on Clancy.

Yeah, that seems like an extremely basic error by him.

Rhys Webb really playing well. Keeping Wales ticking and has been a real threat with ball in hand.

Not sure if you're serious but it's a pretty basic law.

Does that law apply to any kick? I thought it was only kickoffs...?

Nicely executed try. Williams looks to be playing himself into the lions back 3.

    It is.

But George Clancy is nowhere near Murrayfield.

He's already in it barring a big loss of form. He's the form winger from the home nations over the past 9 months including against NZ.

Lacey was going to give that. He is useless

Rhys Webb shaking his head after that - not endearing himself to anyone.

Do you not think you're being a bit harsh on George Clancy for criticising him for a mistake that he's not refereeing? Johnny Lacey is reffing

Hogg had a legitimate claim there. Seemed that they both had a hand on the ball as it was grounded.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,978 ✭✭✭✭irishbucsfan

Sly from Webb, very light touch did just enough. Would have got away with it too if it wasn't for that meddling TMO

Having a great game though, he'll be right in the shake up to be Lions 9 this summer.

Welsh flankers are a nightmare to deal with at the breakdown. Warburton stepping back from the captaincy has been excellent for him. Might finally be able to deliver on his ability.

Good call Venjur!! There is no worse sight in rugby than Liam Williams scoring a try....just slightly ahead of that dopey look that Farrell has when he's about to kick.

Explain that one to me. Wyn Jones and Tipuric made no effort to move after the tackle. Is that legal?

Luckily Jennifer Aniston gave him the courage to step down as captain.

Halfpenny is going to go on the Lions tour simply by default because he certainly isn't anything special. If Biggar's kicking stats were consistently as good as his, I'd look at Liam Williams playing 15 and either moving Halfpenny back to his original wing position or someone like Amos coming into the side.
