Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. What a try.

There's a kind if "freshness" about Scotland that's quite pleasant to watch.

Scots trying their hardest to lose this. Don't think they have enough to hold out.

    I take that back

If they see this out, this is a really good result for Ireland.

Welsh essentially out of the running for our visit to Cardiff and Scotland going to London with a spring in their step and an outside chance.

Scotland have really improved. They used to have a massive problem scoring tries. I'm happy for their fans.

There's only one thing for them to do.

    Ditch their coach.

Gatland sitting there wondering how will he justify taking 15 Welshmen on tour now

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 236 ✭✭thisonetaken

Scotland are good for the first time in probably a million years

I'm confused by the commentator saying he was offended that someone said Scotland are a mid table team.....surely that's a compliment if anything as they normally finish last or second last

Hogg nailing down the Lions 15 jersey I think. Lovely player to watch

Hmmm. There were a number of posters on this forum giving out about Ireland losing to a "rubbish" Scotland. I would call that arrogance.

Sure Scotland are somewhat limited but they make the most of what they have. Barring me putting on the hex they will be 2 from 3.

Bit harsh there. Straight into his own man, nearly always given as a scrum to the defending team rather than a penalty unless the guy stepped in front of a tackler.

Scottish commentator showing just how big the chip on his shoulder is. It's almost as if Scotland haven't been awful for over a decade.

Who is the co-commentator on rte ? Has a real chip on his shoulder about teams writing off Scotland

Can Scotland beat England and win the triple crown ???

Delighted for Scotland here. Great fans, a lovely attacking team through the likes of Hogg and Seymour and they're always good to conceded a few tries. Hope they beat England too.

I wouldn't call it arrogance at all. They are better this year. They've been "better" every year for five years no. This is the first time it's actually been true.

I suspected at the time it was more a case of Scotland being good than Ireland being bad on opening weekend... Confirmed now I think.

How well would Moriarty have to play to stay on the field?

Serious performance from the Scots considering the players they're missing.

Yes, that match is in Twickenham though ;)

So is Laidlaw badly missed? I don't think so. Russell seems better without him.

Never heard as much shìte in my life. People write off Scotland. People look down on Scotland. People wouldn't rate Scotland. People wouldn't pick any Scots for the Lions. Give it a fcuking rest.

I think it was somewhere in between.
The win against us definitely gave them a bit of confidence and momentum.
    This win will help too.

I think they've been building on provincial performance, building a squad and a way of playing that makes the most of their resources.
Cotter has done a really good job imo.

"Wales have a chance!" says the BBC as they pack down for a scrum with 90 seconds left and 16 points behind.

The Scottish co-commentator is reaching Fr. Ted 'Golden Cleric' levels.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,258 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

And Cotter has effectively been sacked just as everything he worked on over the last few years has all come together.

Townsend is a great coach but the Scottish Union has still gotten rid of the best coach they've had in 15 years.

Chris Paterson is the token home man. Eddie Butler is the main commentator on the Beeb.

    Fierce enjoyable game.

Scotland's two tries were brilliantly constructed and finished but it's their breakdown work that's simply incredible.

England and Italy to come for the Scots.

Not the best result for Ireland given that we have to go to Cardiff next on a Friday night.

Good for us. They'd be gunning for us at home anyway, but now they can't win the tournament.

Scotland still can with a win over England and will hopfully really put it upto them and I think we've a day more recover before England visit us.
