its not seeing as we(rovers) have played a 17 year old johnny kenny.

Confirmed on RTE that that was the case. Although since Mondays easing of restrictions those u18s would be available this week.

Is he signed on a professional contract??

If so, then I presume he is considered to be on the elite panel.

Is Dean Walsh with the blues this year? He'd surely be an option up top in our current plight

Club have asked to forfeit the game thus Sligo win 3-0

Common sense but still a shambles what's going on

I think Dean Walsh is at wexford this season.

right call to not play the fixture this weekend in my view. should have done the same last weekend too.

Will a former FAI official buy the club to impress his new eye candy ?

He stole enough to afford it, but why would you bother, the club is a mess

He's not with Wexford anymore AFAIK. Strange as he'd be a better option up front now. Don't think John Martin is a striker in my book.

    This won't end well.

In his favour, he probably came pretty cheap.

Look up the rest of the story. Thrown a dig in self defence , case was thrown out of court.

It's only when people who have no idea who he is google his name that it brings this up that they immediately think "yeah he's trouble" without actually reading the story.

I hope this guy does well. I saw him on the show where Tubes (of Soccer AM fame) plays golf with current and former players. Check it out on YouTube, he tells all about how he ended up in a maximum security prison.

Seems like a harmless enough character, I'd say he'll give it a lash anyway. He's coached at a very good level.

Ye, best of luck to him.. Might be just what we need

Good luck to Marc Bircham, I wouldn't recognise him if he passed me in the street, but I know the name, knew he played for Millwall, he will probably need it with all the goings on at the club, but when everything clicks, the blues are a capable side, the reality this season is that they will struggle to finish outside the bottom two, but hopefully there will be an upturn in fortunes

Would love to see him build his team this season and avoid relegation with a view to a positive run next season

I was merely only sharing what showed up on a Google search about the guy, people are getting very upset about this image been circulated, a bit like people constantly accusing local media of sensationalism without reading the articles.

I too wish the manager the best of luck and will support the team. I am concerned though, I was hoping for someone with league of Ireland experience to be appointed, a Rennie or Ollie Horgan type manager.

I just feel we don't have the quality this season that we had in previous seasons, particularly in terms of attacking and scoring goals. hopefully the new manager can galvanize the squad and get the very most out of them but it's looking like a relegation battle for us unfortunately.

I'll be happy if I have to eat my words but bringing in a guy with no management experience and no knowledge of the league to manage a squad cobbled together by idiots at the last minute doesn't sound like a recipe for success to me.

    Rennie twice bitten thrice shy
Can't see him throw his hat at it ever again

I'd say he would come back if power was gone though

Apparently the new boss has been promised funds in the summer transfer window. Surely it would have made more sense to recruit properly before the season started?

Aye but Marc has been handed a situation now he has to manage until then. No doubting Marc's credentials he has played football for established teams and has alot of coaching under his belt. I am hoping can avoid relegation and build on the youth he has with some signings next summer for the future.
