Another season where a manager is let go early. Best of luck to Danny Searle and thanks for his service, last year's cup run was impressive

Will we get another journeyman manager from the UK or will we go for an Irish guy ?

The funds are available for the likes of Vinny Perth and Keith Long but do they want to be in charge of a first division side which look like automatic promotion might be a bridge too far ?

As far as I know Long has/had a job outside of football which be used to dual role with managing Bohs. That might work in Dublin but certainly not in Waterford.

I'd be surprised if they don't opt for another UK based manager.

Could of done a hell of a lot worse, he knows the league of Ireland and won't take any ****

I'll forgive him for the Cup semi in 2021, tbf his Bohs team deserved the win

Needs to hit the ground running esp with the gap between ourselves and Galway

Good appointment, least he knows the league of Ireland. Time for a reaction from the players now.

Ye, heard a rumor earlier in the week that it was on the cards.. Great appointment by the club, and a massive move forward.. Onwards and Upwards for The Blues

Gotta knock a few Ws off now .

no other way about it,gap between us and Galway is already 10 points with us having a game in hand. There very impressive so far

Wasn't impressed with the way Searles was sacked, he wasn't given enough time, if Clarke doesn't get sent off they go on to beat Bray easily. He's had to deal with a load of new signings who tbh haven't impressed.

What I would say I defence of the owners is he wasn't their appointment and they now want to put their own stamp on the club and in fairness the 2 appointments this week are very impressive. Let's hope it's the end of the manager merry-go-round for a long time and there's now stability at the club. The club has been an embarrassment at board level for years but this looks like it has longevity behind it.

Netflix missed out on a hell of a football series these past few years 😁

    7-1 win

What a start to the Keith Long Era

The difference one the second goal went in was massive, confidence flowing.

    Roland was immense tonight

Searle was out of his depth. An academy manager is his level, he shouldn't have been near a senior team. His in game management was pathetic and was lucky to have fantastic players bail him out. The difference was there for all to see on Friday when Waterford kept attacking , if Searle had of been in charge he would have sat back. Roll on Cobh.

We scored plenty of goals last year with Danny, so think that's a bit reductionist tbh.

We should be betting Kerry by more than 1-0

The Premier Division is so competitive and the 9th place team could be a big gun

Just happy to get the win tbh, we certainly weren't clinical on the night, blazed loads of chances over the bar. Coughlan is a really good signing .

How good is Phillips though, won everything that came his way the other night , brilliant in the air.

Can't see us passing Galway, though we'll run them close. Allowing for medium-level risk play-offs, our season is looking wearyingly familiar as we plod through the Summer towards a season climaxing winner takes all play-off against UCD in Richmond Park, once again.

    Third time lucky?

  • Registered Users Posts: 341 ✭✭Crusty Blaa

I think we'd be lucky to get UCD in a playoff - they aren't near as good a team this year as they have been the last few years. I reckon they will go straight down and that'll leave one of the likes of Cork, Shels, Drogheda or Sligo in the playoff match if we even get there of course.

If we can somehow take 6 points off Galway in our next two games against them, that will hopefully rattle them and we'll see how good they are then. It's a tough ask but a long way to go.

Exact same thoughts, Philips is a great addition back there and him being given the armband only highlights that. Coughlan is on fire at the minute, I think Kerry did very well, they have been hockeyed once by Galway, that's it. They defend deep and in numbers and we are still finding our feet under a new set up (again)

Very happy with the progress made in the past few weeks overall

Great win Away to Treaty last nite.. That's 5 wins on the hop.. Coughlan on fire.. Keep the pressure on Galway.. This League far from over..

What is the capacity, 3,100 or so, it's a lot of people if it's even close to that, but with the night ahead and no pubs open, it may already be full

  • Registered Users Posts: 891 ✭✭✭skaface

Big game tonight up in Bray.. Always a hard place to get a result.. Hopefully we get the 3pts and keep the winning streak up

6 wins in a row now and another 2 goals from Ronan Coughlan. We should beat Wexford at home on Monday and then a big game away to Galway. We'll probably need to beat Galway a couple of times to have a chance of catching them.
