Is this forum a joke?? People thinking Rennie will leave and even hoping for it? The guy who won the league and got us Europe in two seasons... meanwhile someone has suggested David Breen replace him? All sorts of new levels of embarrassment... after just one pretty bad defeat

Maybe it's a throw back to the Bob Breen and Mike Flanagan people are suggesting

Agree 100% football forums or discussion anywhere often not the place if you want reasonable and balanced discussion.

My opinion is that is has taken us as far as he can. Well done for winning the first division but im sorry he oversaw a poor slump which left us barely getting 4th. For the club to kick on we needed a good start to the season and it has not happened. You do remember they almost didnt get Europe? I cant see him staying to be honest. I know its not all down to him but ultimately the buck stops with him regarding results.

You can’t kick on when you can’t offer a player more than bloody Derry City. You’re expecting to much, our squad is a mid table side and that’s it. Even last seasons side were a mid table side but having players of the stature of Aborah/Puri etc around brought them forward. Look at the squad we achieved Europe with. Half of them are playing in the first Division now. Holohans playing in the English 5th tier. Rennie shouldn’t of achieved what he did, but he did. Letting him leave would be the worst thing we could possibly do. He’s one of the only good things going for the club. If he leaves it’ll be of his own accord and it will be because he has been treated like sh*te this season of the Powers. If the budget is cut fair enough but the way he was treated while trying to require players has been disgraceful

Yeah that is fair enough. I agree he has done a good job i just think he may not be able to push us on. Of course if the those in charge do not help him then he is in a tough position. Maybe they dont have faith in him. I dont know.

The highlights of the Dundalk game was rough viewing from our point of view

St Pats at home Friday night in a must win game to get the confidence back up. The Sligo away game for the 23rd March has been postponed due too international call ups so ATM we face Finn Harps at home on the 29th March

With Europe coming in the summer were going too need a decent run in domestically. The die hard supporters wont go away anytime soon and there will be a 'sunshine supporter' element come July but more the merrier for the RSC.

Drinan and Elbouzedi called into the Irish under 21 squad with Keto in the Finland Under 21 squad

I think you're really over egging the impact of Europe. The moneys nice, but the E230,000 for the first round wouldn't even cover the losses Waterford made to get out of the First Division.

It's also potentially only one game in June. Crowds are hugely dependent on the draw and, if the away league is played first, if the tie is still alive.
Even the "die hards", who couldn't be bothered going to games only 2 years ago, will be hard pushed to go to Waterford v FC Kairat or Slavia Sofia if Waterford are 2 or 3 goals down from the first leg.

Novelty factor of Waterford hosting European football again but a lot has changed since the last one we hosted. The amount of teams in European competitions nowadays is massive compared too years ago

A sunny summer evening game will attract people esp if its the first leg and the pubs will be hoping

2-0 win Drinane with the 2 goals great too get the home win and hopefully it's of a resurgence

Weeks break due too international call ups and next up is Finn Harps at home in 2 weeks time

Just back in the door from the RSC - first game I've ever been at down there and I really enjoyed it! Good game of football and great result - pity Bastien had to go off at half time I thought he was playing well. Drinan is a horse of a man two goals and worked his balls off.

    2013 people there - is that good/bad/average?

I'd say fairly good for a dreary enough night, weather wise.hopefully bigger numbers next home game against harps in two weeks and more spring like weather.

Massive 4-0 win at home too finn harps who went down too 10 men

Were actually up too 5th now

Play Galway utd at home Monday night in the EA sports cup. Next league game is next Friday 5th Apr away too UCD

Shocking football played there tonight regardless of the 4-0 victory!

That's a bit dramatic. Yes it wasn't always free flowing but Waterford played some good stuff at times and if they didnt they wouldnt of won 4-0.

Harps came for the draw and ruin the game. Football wasn't the best in the first half because of this. After the first goal there was only going to be one winner and Blues could have scored 6 or 7 by the end. Great 3 points. UCD will be tough next week and we must try and avoid a defeat.

Yep, 100%. They did ruin it, for the first anyway.we started playing in second keeping ball and trying to draw them out, but even then crowd got impatient a little. Great result end of day.

Poor defeat tonight. Hery on the bench again. Bit strange.

Still 10 mins left in the game Haha. But yeah they're gonna get bet, 4 1 down. Very poor.

Another big away hammering and next Friday we have to travel too Shamrock Rovers who are in fine form and will want too bury us

The European buzz will start soon and will be good for the club/city and supporters even if it's only one round which is most likely.

This may be the only season we will be in Europe unless we win the cup. Best we can hope for in the league is a mid table finish unless we improve drastically

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,386 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Away too Shamrock Rovers tomorrow night

A win would be Fantastic but there on form and will be hard too beat at home. A draw would be good also

    Deff need too improve

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,386 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

A loss on the road once again 2-1 defeat at the hands of Shamrock Rovers. From listening on WLR our tactics seemed too be all over the place and Rovers never looked like losing. Our goal came in the 90th Min

Back on the road Monday travelling too Sligo Rovers and we need something from that game. Cork City next home game on Fri 19th April

  • Registered Users Posts: 187 ✭✭Deiselurker

5 games between now and end of April so we need to pick up a few wins or we will be still looking over our shoulders at UCD in the 2nd bottom position. We've Sligo away,Cork home, Derry home, Bohemians away and Dundalk home so no easy games there.

    What is going with Hery?

Taken off last night & on the bench a few weeks ago too. Maybe not at his best but is Waterford's best player.

Did he fall out with Reynolds?

He hasn't been the same player this year but apparently has been carrying a slight injury since start of season. With all the games coming up he won't get much chance to rest it. We need him back to full form and fitness.

Took a Substantial knock in a previous game from a few weeks ago anyway, subd, and had ankle iced/strapped on the line.he was sub next home game after that (harps) came on though.

The amount of people defending Delaney is embarrassing. He took the tax payer for a ride, had his rent PAID for him, spent 60k on a credit card. He's our own Healy Rae.

In fairness the majority of the chaps defending him haven’t two brain cells to rub together.

They’re all very quiet this morning....
