FIXTURE POSTPONEMENTS: There have been a number of fixture postponements in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division due to international call-ups; Aaron Drinan and Zack Elbouzedi part of the Republic of Ireland U21 squad:

The following Premier Division fixtures have been postponed:
    31/05 - Waterford v Shamrock Rovers
    09/06 - Cork City v Waterford
    14/06 - Derry City v Waterford

New dates for the fixtures will be announced in due course.

We really dont have a squad if we have too postpone fixtures cause of 2 guys.

Nice to get back too winning ways but a good night for us could of be a great night if Bohs had a held Sligo too a draw but Sligo win it in injury time too move ahead of us by 1 point

7th now on 23pts with Sligo on 24pts in 6th (both have 18 games played) with St Pat's 5th with 20pts and Derry in 4th on 30 pts (both have 19 games played)

We play Bray in the League cup QF on Monday and then off for a month or whenever the next matches are rescheduled

Bohs losing though helps with the 3rd place spot not going too far ahead of us. Nice big gap between relegation spots too.

Both Reynolds and Stephen Bradley wanted Friday's game to go ahead despite the u21's missing. FAI made the call.

Very comfortable 1-0 win. Never really in any doubt. Scott Twine scored the winner from a 25 yard free kick.

Kenny Browne back from injury played 75mins and looked comfortable. Griffin, Feely and Akinade all had good games.

Scott twine's goal last night, super free kick it was too, is his last involvement for the blues. Going back to Swindon as his loan period is up the end of May.

    When's the next game lads?

Bohs at home on June 28th. I don't like that we have no games until then.

might not be a bad thing. gives the players some time off and gives Rennie time also to work with the players as we have been very poor this season. if it's the same auld ****e from Rennie after nearly a month lay off then its defo the door for him.

    It's actually an utter farce.

From a conditioning perspective, you've nearly got to do a second pre-season to bring players back up to match fitness after a break of that length. Also frustrating that it comes on the back of a period when squads throughout the league were struggling with the number of games in close proximity a few weeks ago.

Financially you also have to contend with no cash flow from having no home fixture for five weeks. In Waterford's case they already have a financial hole from the European qualifiers debacle - so they'll be very tight for cash.

This would not happen in any other European league - the teams should have been told to play without their U21s.

Bit harsh. Drinan is our top scorer, Elbouzedi is our player of the season so far, and Chevedukas is away on senior international duty as well.

The biggest problem is the scheduling of fixtures the rest of the season! Not to mention scheduling us away to Derry/Finn Harps away on Monday nights. A bit of common sense would go a long way in the FAI.

Well it was the same when Derry had to come down on Monday 22nd April - while I'd agree it's been done to both teams.

This is a senior mens competition. The whole league shouldn't be grinding to a halt in the middle of the season for a handful of U21s.

    Drinan a big loss

Its seems like an age since we last played and I'd worry about match fitness when we get back. Hard run of games too

Big loss alright, very hard to replace a goal scorer, particularly mid season.

I believe the hope is that he will be back on loan again for remainder of season, from early july, obviously depends on what Ipswich have planned for him.

If he doesn't come back who do you think will slot in there? Twine and Keto are gone too aren't they and Simpson?

Waterford Fc will compete in the 2019/20 Irn Bru Cup

Thirty teams from the Scottish Championship, Scottish League One and Scottish League Two competed, along with four teams from the Highland Football League (one eliminated in preliminary round) and four from the Lowland Football League (one eliminated in preliminary round). In addition to this, Under-21 teams of the clubs competing in the Scottish Premiership were represented. This was the third edition with two clubs from both Northern Ireland's NIFL Premiership and the Welsh Premier League and was the second time that two teams from the League of Ireland entered. A new change was the addition of two entrants from the English National League (fifth tier)

At least it will give the supporters a foreign trip

We could turn into a right laughing stock for the rest of the season. The management must of known the lads were going back to there clubs after only been loaned out to us and would of surely started looking for suitable replacements during the break ???. Now one of our most profile players has left and may never return too Ireland (the Block E boys who sponsored the player are devastated no doubt).

The bright light is we have a short foreign trip in some challenge cup thing. Survival is the main thing for the rest of the season as I think we will lose a few more guys who will turn out too good to be with us atm (Hery, Zach El). Let's pray Power and Co dont **** off after this season but you can't blame them with the Europa league debacle
