Don’t know if I’d write off the blues just yet.
Ali Coote and John Martin are getting us goals and Daryl Murphy also almost ready.

Daryl is going to be huge for us I hope we get 4/5 games out of him.

Need to tell Ali Coote to watch his temper

He seems to get booked a lot

sorry to Michael o Connor leave, one of our best players, but best of luck to him and it appears we received a fee for him too.

really thought Daryl would have been on the pitch by now, hopefully we see him soon, would be a massive boost to have him knocking in a few goals up front.

With six games left it's unlikely they'll be able to get him back fit and anywhere close to match fitness.

I hope his legs haven't gone like Damian Delaney's.

Also - was O'Connor still on loan from Linfield or did he become a Waterford player outright?

He was a Waterford player. Free transfer from Linfield I think.

Hopefully they got a few bob but probably another case of a LOI club giving players away for free.

I read somewhere that there was a fee.

yeah fairly sure he signed permanently in July, as opposed to previous loan agreements. it was reported yesterday that there is a fee involved but nothing disclosed as to how much

Makes sense with the time that's left. Probably saves the club a few bob as well!

Rockett deserves his chance now to show what he can do.

6-1 hammering was not the best of starts but Rovers are incredible

    Saturday game is massive

In fairness to Rockett, or anyone else who came in, trying to build any continuity in this group of players is easier said than done.

I deliberately said 'group' instead of team because the players and managers change so often that there's no chance to build at all.

Is there a single player in the Waterford side that's been there maybe 2-3 years even? If he is it might be a young lad that was hanging around the underage for a couple of years beforehand.

Every team should have a core of senior players who are leaders and who've been at the club a few years. Clubs like Rovers and Dundalk have that and it shows.

A Bohs win over Derry tonight will do us nicely, Dundalk are starting to get a bit of momentum back and you would expect them to do well in there games in hand and secure a top 3 place. Maybe not beat Rovers

The Sligo game is almost do or die for us in regards getting that 4th spot. A defeat and its downhill from there i think esp having to travel too Derry next weekend

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,386 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Bohs beat Derry 2-1 in injury time

decent result for us if we get the win tomorrow

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,386 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

1-0 up at HT great volley by Smith

Game far from over and we knw that esp from this opposition

Massive win for us and we now go into third but Dundalk have 3 games in hand due to the Euro matches

Big game for us next weekend Travelling to Derry and a win there will move us further away from 5th spot

We will be praying for good fortunes for the rest of the cup. A Rovers vs Bohs or Dundalk would be nice with us after finishing 4th

Rovers should beat Dundalk tomorrow, and then Dundalk enter a gigantic fixtures pile-up if they qualify on Thursday.

The positive is that it might help Waterford's chances of getting third place. The negative is that Dundalk are unlikely to have much gas left in the tank for the FAI cup.

Yeah true be so nice if we could secure 3rd place and beat Dundalk at home in the our second last game of the season

The cup is interesting and we have to pray for Rovers (if they beat Finn harps) and the winners of the Dundalk/Bohs QF to be kept away from each other in the semi finals

Lots of football still to go

Dundalk have to beat Rovers tomorrow to knock the blues out of third.
Derry have a midweek game before the blues game.
It’s going to be an interesting few days.

A draw in that would be sufficient

St Pats the bastards are starting to creep back up the table

Great goal last night, seemed like there was a small crowd there, saw team applaud about 50 people in stand, what's the story there?
Maybe it was just back room staff, subs etc.

200 season ticket holders spread out. The first 200 people who bought season tickets were left in and for the next home match the next 200 will have the option to attend and the 3rd match they'll hold a lottery between all the season ticket holders for the 200 tickets.
