St Pats 1- Dundalk 1- FT

St Pats playing Rovers during the week and a loss will eliminate them from getting 4th spot

We still have a chance of finishing 3rd

More issues, don't think it will affect us

We need the win Sunday just to be sure.

Need a win to secure fourth which offers a possibility of Europe.

Need a win to have a slim chance of 3rd which would offer Europe.

Nothing like a November Monday night in Ballybofey to sort the men from the boys.

Not ideal to have late changes to the fixtures but in the circumstances it seems a fair compromise, has been a chaotic season with Covid, doing well to get it finished at all.

doesn't change our approach, we simply need to win at Harps and see where we end up then.

will be interesting to see the Rovers results with 3 games in 6 days, given they dont need the points.

Rovers the ****ers better win tonight and beat/draw with Derry on Saturday. Going for there own record

As you said nothing changes our approach and we must win on Monday. At least we will know what we have to do. Playing the game Monday will suite Dundalk against Sligo

flip 0-0 between Rovers and St Pats. St Pats were pretty good tonight

St Pats still in the hunt and GD could come into play if they can beat Bohs and we lose to Harps but if Sligo can beat Dundalk in that scenario then its Dundalk and Sligo in 3rd/4th :eek::eek:

Anything other than a Derry City win on Saturday will eliminate them from getting 4th place

crazy league going into the last round

Been a decently competitive year in general, despite rovers steamrolling the league, anyone between 3rd and 9th was pretty even all season.

With Cork leaving, we're the only team south of Dublin left in the Premier Division.

Would like to see Longford pip Galway on Friday too

The first division playoffs are farcical, 4th vs 5th in the final

Derry city are the ones too watch now for Waterford. 2 wins for them and a loss/draw for us and they take 4th place

Derry City now out of the running for 4th place

But Finn Harps can go above them with a win. Harps now have two ways out with a win on Monday.

If Waterford win tomorrow night, are the guaranteed Europe?

Depends on who wins the cup if we can finish 4th. A win for us and we finish a minimum 4th place.

'Derry are out of the mix for Europe now. We will finish somewhere between 3rd and 6th. Only Pats and Sligo can catch us, but we can still also finish ahead of Dundalk in third.
Pats need a win and for us to lose. Sligo need a win and for us to lose or a two goal win and for us to draw. A win guarantees us top four, a draw would still make top four likely, and we can even make the top four if we lose. It’s in our own hands to win and get the job done ourselves.'

Really looking forward to a few beers and the matches tomorrow :D

Massive game for the blues tonight. Apparently they travelled up and stayed over last night. also the pitch is meant to be in better condition now than recent weeks so fingers crossed we can get a result up there.

Yeah looking forward to the game. Think its sometime like 7/8 hour round trip so overnight stay is way better

Let's hope they do the business (or Bohs and Dundalk win there games)

Not at the races tonight, had a few chances but Harps took theres

Hopefully we regroup at HT and give it one last huge effort

  • Registered Users Posts: 893 ✭✭✭Deisegodeo

lucky to be 1 down at half time and Sligo winning so not going our way at present. need a massive second half

  • Registered Users Posts: 892 ✭✭✭skaface

Need a massive last 15 minutes to keep European hopes alive..

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,172 ✭✭✭hardybuck

Tall order considering they've only scored 3 goals in the 6 games before tonight.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,172 ✭✭✭hardybuck

What are they making three subs in injury time?

  • Registered Users Posts: 748 ✭✭✭Dunmoreroader

What a balls up, could have gone 3rd, ended up 5th. Where are they going to get goals next season?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,172 ✭✭✭hardybuck

Annoyed but there's an element of karma there with the way the club have carried out their business this year and the behaviour from Sheridan as well.

What a **** up of a night, all in the space of a few mins we got a ball cleared off the line for the draw and then Sligo beat Dundalk 2-0. A little relieved we didn't score near the end and us all celebrating only to find out Sligo scored again. Hats off too Harps and Sligo though

TBH 5th is a bit of a false position but a little impressive given the ****e that went on within the club with the politics and the managerial changes. We had some good days/nights esp beating Dundalk at home and Bohs away but we had some howlers that cost us. Losing at home too Harps and Shelbourne, only drawing with Cork both times we met and then losing the lead away too Dundalk.

So many Ifs and buts. Lets hope Power commits or we get a new owner willing to heavily invest and give it a massive go for 2021. Fran Rockett not strong enough to lead us but still a good enough number 2 and i think going to back too Rennie would be another mistake. Next few weeks/months will be interesting and hopefully whatever needs to be done is sorted quickly
