Something has to be done with these idiots running the match day activities. Whoever allowed these arseholes into the stadium should me made accountable for it. We are in the middle of a pandemic and it's an insult to to the fans who stayed at home. But there's alway the same few arseholes who think they can do what they want. WLR have a lot to answer to aswell as some of these arseholes are been brought into games by the radio staff

The media passes are a joke. WLR have about 4/5 people there on a WLR pass. Why? Matt Keane is more than enough. Why the need for all the rest when the game isn't broadcasted live by WLR?
Blues Supporters Club Committee and members of the block e boys were in attendance last Friday. The same people travelled to Drogheda last week all outside the 5km zones. So who gave them the permission to travel? Waterford FC? Waterford FC Covid officer? or the WFC Operations Manager?

I travel around Ireland to several different locations every week due to Work commitments but I have a letter to travel as the work I do is deemed essential. So did these members travel with a letter from Waterford FC? Waterford FC Covid officer? or the WFC Operations Manager? That's the million dollar question!

That is unreal that members of the supporters club were in attendance for BOTH games I did see a Blues supporter behind the TV presenters during the game last Friday he seemed to “working at the ground in some capacity - high vis jacket on!”

The blues had a chance to relegate harps last season, its not as if they are going to Kazakhstan or Armenia, its only Donegal. They are only a rabble this season, mixture of has beens and never will be. They look all huff and puff, and not much quality.

    Sad but true

Hard to say where this will all end

A local based manager with experience of LoI and knowledge of talent both local and national is in my opinion the best for any club in this league

Sure didnt we have that already in Rennie :)

Did for sure, also I don't know the origin of it, but the blues have never had a good relationship with the junior league clubs, surely a few of the players wouldn't be far off league of Ireland standard, and certainly well able for the first division, considering some of the players who turned out in the season before Lee Power took over, which included an 8-1 home defeat to UCD, which was certainly the rock bottom result, under the guidance of the greatest spoofer on two feet, Roddy Collins, things are going OK compared to then, but hopefully results will pick up soon

How many local players did Rennie have on the team?

How many guys from the successful U19 team have stepped up to the senior team? That should be the backbone of the club for the next few years.

Colm Whelan is a good example of the club failing to secure underage talent - he was second top scorer in Div 1 for UCD last year.

Rennie had 5-6 local lads in around the first team that I can think of - Matt Connor, Kenny Browne, John Martin, Dean Walsh, Dean O'Halloran, Shane Griffin.

Your point is valid though. As a club, we let too many young players leave without giving them a proper chance.

Now admittedly there are still local players in the squad - Matt Connor, Niall O’Keffee to name but two however other players to beef up the squad should consist mainly with LoI from other clubs or Munster/ Leinster senior league teams - the notion of loan players that leave halfway through a season is disruptive to the team

I think I've articulated this point before, but local players should be looked after with 2-3 year semi-professional contracts on very modest wages. By providing stability you can probably get them on a lower wage.

Like the GAA, help them find jobs with local employers, or college scholarships, that give them sufficient flexibility to play LOI, and you'll also be helping them to build long term careers after football.

This would free up resources to bring in genuine quality players - the ones who can add creativity and score goals for example.

At the end of it you should have a settled squad, with players from the region at its core, and a team featuring some standout players. This is the type of thing supporters could get behind - it's a win-win for everyone.

Blues playing Derry this weekend. Just wondering how many from BSC and the Block E boys will be travelling to Derry for this game with a letter from Waterford FC? Waterford FC Covid officer? or the WFC Operations Manager? Just looking back through this thread and 1 of those who attended both the Drogheda and Sligo games has contributed to this thread previously. Names starting to float about WhatsApp groups of who is attending the games in the RSC and Drogheda and it is very disappointing.

Perhaps someone will ask the club publicly on their Twitter page.

Well done to the Blues, had a great weekend three years ago in Derry when we won 2-1. Great city and great soccer fans too. The Grove bar near the ground is a great Derry City pub

There probably still getting back from Derry. :)

Lads posting pics from the game on Twitter over the weekend,. They are not members of the playing or coaching staff. Absolute bizarre stuff. Breaching every covid 19 guideline and facilitated by WFC while the rest of us have given up so much over the past year or so.

Must be self isolating after the trip to foreign parts.

yeah great win the weekend, harps away always a tough game and they have made a very good start to the season. also tough to have to travel up north 2 weekends in a row, but the last win should give the group confidence and hopefully we get a result up there.

Tough alright, hopefully will get a bit of luck soon and a few good performances and start clocking up more points. Difficult for team and manager with such a new squad.
