I know it's still early and the league table is a bit all over the shop but with the calibre of management we have the situation atm is terrible. If we don't get our asses in gear were fighting to stay up

Seems in house fighting during training sessions - senior player no longer with the club!!

    You couldnt make this up

Yeah saw that, don't know what to think. It's going to be a long long season

Hard to believe if we had beat Shelbourne at home late last season we would be in Europe and i bet the club would be buzzing but we didnt take that opportunity and rightly paid for it

If you're going to mention the calibre of management you should also be mentioning the calibre of the players.

True to a point some of the underage players have progressed and have shown they are able to step up and some of the purchases/ signings have been under whelming and that is only from the feedback from online forums etc. Some of the recent signings are show good and consistent form

Every season has been the same - can't defend properly especially from set pieces and can't be to get a decent striker who can provide 10+ goals a season. In the Aborah/ Hoolohan/ Henry era The Blues had a terrific midfield but the strikers were shocking esp Akinade

Had hopes for this season with the experienced management and their ability to bring in some decent players through their contacts - hasn't happened so far.

The loss of Cian through injury and Brian and Oscar through whatever is a big blow

Hope the team as a whole can stand strong together and get some decent form - win a couple of games win ugly if you have to but win and confidence will grow

    there finished ranting LOL

When the management becomes part of the problem things don't tend to work out too well.

And team unity doesn't appear to be too healthy at the moment either.

The only reason we'll stay up is if there's a more dysfunctional club below us.

Dundalk are more dysfunctional. Very lucky to stay up.

Mcmillan, Hoban, Duffy, McEleney, Boyle, Shields , Leahy ,Cleary, Sloggett, Murray, Patching, and the foreign legion I expect will leave when their contract is up.

At the end of the year.

Unless we appoint a decent manager, and get rid of mad Bill.

I'm sure in time there will be a comedy show based on what is going on at Dundalk, it's totally bizarre but sad to see.

That rumpur was BS like a lot of stories around town

'Waterford FC would like to release the following brief statement in regards to a number of inaccurate and reprehensible articles of late circulating on particular social media platforms.
At a training session held on Monday the 12th of April, Oscar Brennan was involved in a clash of heads during the routine session. Oscar came off the worst and picked up a facial injury, one that will sideline the player for a few weeks.
Under no circumstances was the player involved in any altercation with his fellow players or member of the management team. Oscar is eager to return to training and we wish him all the best in his recovery and look forward to seeing him back.
There have been a number of other misinformative articles surrounding another squad member which will be clarified at a later stage.
In other team news, both Isaac Tshipamba and Daryl Murphy both picked up injuries in last nights 1-0 defeat. Isaac's injury, which was thought to be more serious, appears to be a twisted ankle and not as serious as feared. Daryl's injury is also not as bad as feared and will hopefully return to training shortly.'

Why, just because they said so is it? the fact that there are still different stories still coming out of the camp says it all. The way the club is currently being run is a disgrace and nothing surprises me with them anymore.

Brian Murphy himself came out with a statement saying it wasn't true and indicated he was dropped for having it out with management. That BSC page on Facebook is a cesspit for false stories and rumours. Lads trying to put 2 + 2 together and returning an answer of 7.

Yes things aren't right at the club but all these fantasy stories from some so called supporters don't help either.

Not exactly a million miles off if he's had a row with the managers and was dropped out of the squad!?

Yeah but my point being that you have supporters (who like to believe they have an inside scoop) drawing their own conclusions and stating it as facts isn't at all helpful.

The club is like a real life series of Dream Team to some of them.

Agreed - but perhaps they've learned a lesson in what happens when the best player is dropped from the squad without an explanation.

Yeah St Pat's are a better side so far this season, and a better side on paper.

They had awful problems scoring in the last couple of seasons, but signing Ronan Coughlan from Sligo was a signal of intent.

They've also signed Sam Bone and Ali Coote from Waterford which adds a little bit of extra spice to the fixture.

Is Brian Murphy back in the squad?

Can anyone shed some light on why a new jersey was only introduced 4-5 games into the season, and a shirt sponsor a week later?

    Logistical error apparently

Mind-boggling incompetence would be the obvious answer.

Brian Murphy not in the squad again, Mike Newell sent to the stand again.

Good to see the blues demonstrating consistency if nothing else.

There's a vacancy in the European Super League. We've won more than Tottenham so we should qualify!

I love how the club were so salty with their recent statement about the incorrect rumours about Oscar Brennan, but they seem to be ok with leaving the Murphy situation fester.

Nothing to see here, our best and second most experienced player has just had a row with management and won't be involved for the foreseeable - nothing to see here!

Another poor defeat by an odd goal. A strange kind of game, pats looked comfortable, blues actually didn't play too bad, but we are seriously lacking up front and never really threatened.

Newell sent to the stand, second time already this season I think. the Brian Murphy situation is really poor, he is our best player in my view and should be playing. could be a long season the way it's going so far. a lot of the teams we would have hoped to finish above are well ahead of us in terms of points on the board already.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,172 ✭✭✭hardybuck

I get the impression (didn't get a chance to watch it) that Waterford didn't really threaten much, and it doesn't look like they have any goals in the team.

It's a 36 game season, and a long way to go, but it looks like a relegation scrap is ahead.

Re Murphy - something must be badly wrong if a guy with that much experience has had a row with management. Sheedy hasn't really managed at adult level, did lots of youth coaching - perhaps the club will make another statement to avoid more wild speculation.

This club seems to be never far from some controversy, must be a real rollercoaster supporting.

Nigel Kelly yesterday asked KS a question and in pure Gavin Whelan style, he answered the question for him before even KS answered. Flanagan has an article in this weeks N&S and the only thing worth reading is the headline. The article itself has no bite in it. For a man that has been banned from the RSC he should be going full throttle at the Club, Lee Power, Rub Dunphy and Tony Burke. Either he is incapable of doing it or he doesn't have the support of his paper. I think it's a bit of both! Matt Keane is so far up the clubs ass he isn't going to press any buttons and is generally piss poor. His posts on the Blues Supporters page are generally a clap on the back to himself.

We have no good local journalist to tackle the issues within the club head on whether it's a damning article in one of the local rags or in a one on one interview on WLR. Furthermore, we have the BSC who are simply lap dogs to the club and have not represented the best interest of their members/fans and are going to go down the same route of previous official supporters clubs....oblivion!

Mike Newell got sent to the stands last night for a row about a player's sock tape. Some rollercoaster alright.
