Nice win but doesnt paper over the fact we are still pretty crap and half that team arent good enough,of course many people will naively think we are good after today but believe me we aint

Losing to Burnley would be the ultimate summation of our season, they have been so dire away from home.

I think there's a difference between enjoying the win and thinking we're this or that.

    Come on...

Give credit, when credit its due.

Apart from Coutinho, Can and Clyne, I thought we were nearly perfect.

Bit of investment added to the squad in the summer and we should be alright.

What did Clyne do wrong? He was up against one of the best forwards in the game.

I'd be happy our full backs as long as Clyne stayed back when Milner went forward and Milner went forward all the time and Milner was another player who was actually a left back.

He doesn't look comfortable on the ball, always looks a bit in a panic.

This is mainly in attacking moments of play, I'm probably nit picking but he did frustrate me on a few occasions today.

Leicester clearly downed tools on Cloudy N Rainy, and in that time, lets say the last 10 games they played, they handed 3pts to both United and Chelsea. It's hardly a honest table when dishonestly on Leicester's part affected it. Had we played them before they sacked manager we'd 100% have 3pts more, as we would have won.
So United and Chelsea have been handed a free 3pts extra by a dishonest set of players at Leicester.

Thought he did poorly when he lost Welbeck for their goal.

He's actually quite good in the first two thirds of the pitch and even in the final third but only so long as he's not the one trying to play the final ball.

You just take the results with these kinds of games but I don't think we were particularly brilliant.

We didn't outplay Arsenal to any great degree. We thumped it up the pitch because we had no base to build off in possession (Can was good off the ball but he can't be the engine in midfield) and our front 3 were on song while Arsenal were really bad off 2nd balls.

We weren't ruthles at all, with absolutely buckets of space to play in and a fair few clear cut chances or at least half chances, we really should've been able to take Arsenal to the cleaners.

That we can be the best team in the country against the best sides is both puzzling and really encouraging. There's so much to work on and we could get a lot more quality in the final third but there's so much that's structurally spot on about it.
If we get the personnel right, we'll be able to get this amount of space and this volume of chances, but we'll do it with more control of the ball, better capacity to build play and we'll be far more devastating than we already are.

Thought this was tomorrow so had tickets to see Logan (I don't even like the c*nt.). I have missed the Spurs and forever fourth FC games in recent weeks so if anyone wants to organise a whip around for a few cinema tickets for the same time as the Burnley game it'll be a guaranteed 3 points.

    Liverpool

finished last season after 38 games with 60 points, having scored 63 goals, 16 wins 12 draws and 10 losses

Currently after 27 games on 52 points having scored 58 goals with 15 wins, 7 draws and 5 losses.

As absolutely maddening as this last few months has been Klopp has this side in much better shape, it just could be sooooo much better with some tactical work.

It was a great win no doubht but we do need 5 or 6 top notch players which equates to half a team if we are to seriously challenge,im not being miserable just realistic

As much as I love him and think he betters the team, I can just see Henderson blasting Wijnaldum's chance into the stands in that situation.

Wijnaldum, Lallana, Firmino, Mane & Coutinho really are a great front 5.

Whether they are or not is up for debate.

What isnt up for debate is that we are the top scorers in the league with 58 while our defence only scrapes into the top 10 having conceded more than the likes of Middlesbrough.

It is infuriating, personally, that we have invested 120m in the last 4 transfer windows in attack while largely ignoring the problem areas of keeper and defence by investing only 25m in that same period.

To put things in context, as a club, we have spent less on team purchases in the last 4 windows than we did in one season in 99/00.

Our potential in attack is being entirely undermined by something i really dont understand. We shouldn't be biting our fingernails for 4th and above this season. If we dont make it, and then ignore AGAIN what we all know are the issues this summer, im straight down the garden shed for a pitchfork.

    View from the stands....

First half we were very good in patches. Lallana was everywhere, Firmino's touch was filthy and they couldn't keep tabs on Mané. What you probably won't have seen on BT was Arsenal being booed off by their fans. They really were miserable - lost every 50/50 and barely troubled Mignolet. Didn't think we were outstanding but we didn't have to be.
2nd half and we inevitably conceded - thought Mig should have done better myself, but there again, I often do. Matip read everything and why Klavan didn't start against Leicester given how assured he looked today is baffling.
Player who stood out for me though was Gini. His ability to pick up the second balls in midfield, find a smart pass and get us going - and he does this time and time again. The fact that he capped it off with a cracking goal was even better.
Lallana was quieter in the second half but rarely wasted a ball. They had about 5-10 minutes after they scored when they looked as if they'd make a game of it but rarely have I seen an Arsenal team as insipid as that.
I don't honestly know where that leaves us - we know we're awesome against the better teams. I thought we were far more impressive against Spurs and then went out and did what we do against Leicester. Time to start stringing some performances together now.
The relationship between this Arsenal side and their fans is pretty toxic. At the end of the game, at least 8 of the Arsenal players trudged off with a half-hearted applause for the away fans. This was met with several wanker signs and loads of verbal abuse. And we thought we had problems.

Wijnaldum is class I really didn't expect him to be. He is just an all rounder not exceptional at anything just solid at everything.

I like that he clearly cares. He shows a real passion for the club and the fans.
Collecting his cheque is not his top priority , he wants to win.

Well yeah, but they have scored what? 19 goals? 20 goals? We could smash their defensive record imo if we played as negatively as them. The way we play it seems we can't have one without the other. Certainly not without a change in mentality aswell as personal changes. The point being we can have the 2 best fullbacks in the world but if they are never in our own half we will still leak goals. We need to strike that balance between attack and defence just as much as we need personnel changes imo.

Klavan didn't start against Leicester because he nearly always has a mistake in him leading to a goal. He'll play a very good 2 games then miskick a clearance or something equally silly and we concede a goal. And repeat this the next game too. He just can't seem to keep his s**t together for very long.

Rediculous comment, of course a higher quality of defender would help regardless of the way we play. If that was the case moreno would Be playing every week

He's a centre half. He knows the position. He's very good on the ball. He's prone to error, sure, but compared to Lucas? Absolutely baffling. You can't not pick him because tonight might be the night he makes an error. If that was the case, Lovren would never get a game.
