Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I wanted Salah then and I'm happy if he signs now. The attitude of "Well he chose Chelsea then, so I don't want him now" that I've seen in a few places is hilarious. He's not a Liverpool supporter. He's a football player.

The Echo is now reporting we are prepared to match City and Chelsea's bids and wages for VVD.

Where did I say that Coutinho should be benched?

He was a signing where the scouts came up trumps, he has developed to be come a very important player for us and has a huge value now.

However, if we're buying a player for £35-40m which will be the most expensive signing in the club's history, then I believe it to be a major signing and the expectation is he'll be in the normal starting eleven.

That said, I think next season will see lots of change. Different formations and systems for different games.
That's why we struggled last season when struggling against lesser teams, not enough flexibility in the squad to adapt to how teams played against us and I think that will change next season so that players will be rotated more.

You didn't, Coulson went off on some weird tangent, nothing to do with what you were actually saying.

I agree with your point if we're dropping £40m then yes I would expect him to be a starter at least until he's dropped or someone else deserves a chance but yeah he will deffo be a first teamer at the start of the season.

Salah only 24. I thought he was what he was, but he can be more than he is, that's good.

Crazy we have had no bids in even lowball ones for Mr Sturridge yet.

Pretty sure every post you make in this thread is disparaging FSG in some way or another.

Im just referring to past mistakes. Come on there is just no way you can defend fsg after their performance the last time we qualified for champions league. We should of pushed on but ended up going 2 steps backwards

My biggest concern is our history of buying players from that league, Coutinho aside, is pretty horrendous.

It's more our record with Italians is horrendous than buying players from that league. Balotelli, Aquilani, Dossena and Borini all massive flops.

In general though Italians don't do well in the premier league.

Since FSG took over we have spent close to £500m on players none of the managers were forced to sell players.

Players left because they wanted out or we got offers to good to turn down.

It very unfair to say they haven't backed the managers in the transfer markets.

We should ask them to learn Chinese for the summer.

The net spend is far too low though. £500m - £175m of that alone generated from the sale of Torres, Saurez and Sterling.

Ugh, thought you'd finished with this nonsense the last few months of the season.

The thread was readable those two months and you were in the thick of decent discussions.

    Just my 2c

Blaming FSG when transfers don't happen is just lazy. They are the owners/shareholders of the club. They have limited resources and are prudent with how they spend their money. That frustrates fans because fans don't have to live with the financial consequences if it all goes wrong.

FSG rescued the club from bankruptcy and the disaster that was H&G. In a short number of years they have rebuilt the playing squad, brought in a world class management team, built a new stand and developed the international commercial sponsorship side of the club. It may not be fast enough for some fans but then don't forget the fans had an opportunity to pony up and buy the club and bottled it leaving us with people who would prefer to shout the odds about how poorly FSG are doing rather than write a cheque themselves. The irony of it.

It's so easy to be an expert and criticise when you have no skin in the game yourself.

I wonder would Klopp revert to his favoured 4 2 3 1 next season that could drop into a 433 or 442 diamond when needed.

    New LB
