Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I think Klopp's just daft enough to enjoy a coaching challenge

I think Klopp's just daft enough to enjoy a coaching challenge

I think he's maximising the talent of the squad at the moment. There's only so far he can bring the current squad.

I'm not too upset about missing out on Dahoud, or panicking or anything, but its another target down and if the excuse is that Hendo is doing so well so we dont need another good option, despite Hendo missing a good few games through an injury that needs to be managed, it just doesn't fill me with any confidence for the summer. Time will tell i suppose.

Once we spend 200m on 4 new starters and 3 new squad members we'll be fine.

Hendo out for the Everton game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,952 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Most likely be Coutinho back in the middle and Origi brought on the left wing, though Firmino could be out left with Origi central. I'd rather see Origi on the left, I think he's almost better out there and cutting in than trying to provide a presence up top.

Who are we playing in 4.6 games time?

    Probably

    Mig
    Clyne--Matip--Lovren--Milner
    Can
    Wiji--Coutinho
    --Mane---Firmino---Origi

Either that or else Lucas in midfield with Coutinho in his regular role.

Not many other options really except for the likes of Klavan in for Lovren if he isn't right still. Milner could go to midfield with Moreno starting and leave Lucas on the bench, but I don't think so.

Ben Woodburn might get a start.

He could fit in at midfield or on the left of a front three.

Will probably end up being a fine or a slap on the wrist.

The worse thing is, we only let Joe Allen go to them in the summer and now we're back in for him?

I doubt we're back in for him. Should never have sold him though!

HE WANTED TO PLAY EVERY WEEK

Tapping up the Stoke schoolboy, Joe Allen.

HE WANTED TO PLAY EVERY WEEK

All good players want to play every week. It's competition in the squad, something we need.

If a player wants to leave they leave, esp if it's for game time. The mere fact he went to Stoke tells you everything, the wages were not the issue, the club's stature/potential CL was not the issue, playing time was. He knew at Liverpool he'd get half the pitch minutes.

    Off to Roma apparently.

Will be interesting to see how Sevilla cope without him.

That would require us to close a deal with a highly rated target, or as we like to call it, kryptonite....

    Monchi already announced for Roma

You're right, not official yet, thought I saw a statement from Roma yesterday. My bad.
    It is happening though

Klopp says Sturridge isn't back in full training and is still in rehab, "No chance" of playing tomorrow.

Yea, seems to be the case alright, bit of a coup for Roma

I wouldn't mind but they've been pretty sharp in the transfer market as it is for years.

    Salah
    Parades
    Manolas
    Alison
    Rudiger
    Pjanic
    Dzeko

    Among others.

He'll start the last game against Boro and score a cracker which causes him to fall awkwardly over the hoardings into a wheelchair.

Speaking of crocks anyone starting to wonder about Henderson?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Amazed nobody has mentioned that Hendo is not only out for the Everton game but has had a setback and Klopp said he doesn't know when he'll be back exactly. Could miss the next 3 games.

Our small squad could really bite us on the bum during the run in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,592 ✭✭✭brevity

He could end up being a 20 game a year player which wouldn't be too bad as i do think Liverpool need an upgrade in his position.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,952 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

I think Henderson needs to upgraded on anyway, he's not a bad player at all, but we need to bring in a top midfielder and I'd rather see him alongside Gini than Henderson. If that does happen I'm not sure what will happen to the captaincy.

Premier League launches major fightback against illegal streaming

    https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/mar/29/premier-league-illegal-streaming-tv-audiences
“The Premier League is currently engaged in its largest ever anti-piracy campaign to protect its copyright,” a Premier League spokesman told the Guardian. “Like other sports and creative industries our model is predicated on the ability to market and sell rights and protect our intellectual property. It is because of this that clubs can invest in and develop talented players, build world-class stadiums, support the English football pyramid and schools and communities across the country – all things that fans enjoy and wider society benefits from.”

Ah yes the trickle down theory to the grassroots from the PL!!

Well I don't know how they can justify paying anyone the wages they do at this stage, amongst other things. These clubs have massive expenditures and therefore need the TV money to inflate the market and so have no issue milking their fans beyond reason imo. Not just in England but all the top european leagues really. Without wanting to get into a major discussion about it I believe that entire market is inflated beyond a realistic point and has been for many years now and therefore I would rather not buy into it personally until it reaches a more realistic pricepoint, which it probably never will tbh.. In short regarding streams...they started it imo!
