Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Very hard to know how it works, isn't it? Very few permanent jobs and loads of contracts

I got a permanent Job offer and I am in middle of pre screening process. I had given up on anything suitable. Is the panel expiring in Nov? If so might be a rush of offers out between now and then

Some Panels only went live in the last few months so I would hope that they are not looking to expire panels

I'm 16 on the panel and was just offered a position today! Thrilled. Only 4 expressions were sent, all louth.,so the ones ahead of me mustnt have expressed interest. I hope the next process isn't too slow.
I heard someone in top 50 also got these expressions of interest. So unsure how many get emails.

Oh god, that's long time. When do you actually hand in your notice to current job. Do they contact your current employer for a reference??

Don't hand in your notice @ work until they tell you they are going to be contacting your current employer looking for a reference. That will be the last thing they will be looking for and that could take weeks. Defo took at least 2 & 1/2 months from when i accepted the job offer to when they were contacting my employer for their reference.

how long would it take approx then from the time they contact your employer looking for a reference, and the time you actually start? I would definately have to give at least one months notice!!!

Its not too bad when you know you have the job, it will happen alright but will have to wait and go through HBS's step by step, they wont be rushed

thats the very last thing, biggest pain is organizing a start date, i didnt have any problems where i got the, they were very easy going about when i started.

They will ask about the competency questions from the application form. Just remember them. You'll be fine then. Good luck

I got offered a job 2 weeks ago and handed In my notice last week as they wanted me to start asap. Permanent job, yes a lot of paperwork but after 2 weeks mine was complete. If you haven't left the country to work or live vetting is back in 4 days.

They seem to be moving very fast. You'll get your reference templates next and your docs for vetting once that's sent back your on the home run. don't panic when you see all the documents required and I recommend getting them verified at garda station as a solicitor charges €10 per signature. If you need any help PM me. Well done you too, great to get it :D

A clerical officer starting in the hse is entitled to 24 days and then in some areas you get extra it goes back to the old health board days and concession days. So for someone starting in the north west they have an entitlement of 28. 5 days. Not sure on what’s the entitlement in other areas.

Got a job offer few weeks ago and sent in all the documents. Have problem with current employer. Their policy says not confirming references while I'm still employed. And cannot hand in notice as haven't got a start date yet. Anyone has idea what to do?

I had a similar problem with a reference from my last job. But they gave me a letter with the dates I started and finished and the HSE accepted that.

I hope that will work. I sent them the letter already. My current employer is very stubborn. But also bit surprised HSE asking for reference check from current employer before me giving notice. Thanks PinkLady2016
