Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You can request for your place on the panel only when you have returned an expression of interest on a live job.

I am around the 90-100 mark. I had little qualifications and experience when going on the panel but have much more relevant experience and qualifications now. So would be great if I could somehow get a better score ha...
I emailed them and they got back to me immediately.

I know a girl in the 80-90 mark and she gets the expressions of interest too.. so I would love to know how many people have been placed to see did I stand a chance at all.. would love to be placed soon..

Can anyone advise how long it took from references, medical assessment and all the paperwork being submitted to when a contract issued. Thanks.

Are people getting permanent jobs from this panel? All offers seem to be temporary recently which is disappointing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17 Sportsmedic

There have been a few Offers in Clare both temp and full time posts. I know a few including myself in the panel but don’t know anyone who got a job.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13 Cassyx

Can anyone tell me how quickly after you express interest in a job, granted your high enough on the panel , when do you actually get offered the job? Please

  • Registered Users Posts: 17 Sportsmedic

I expressed interest in Dec 2020. They came back to me in Jan. And it’s been ongoing since. Had to fill in health forms for medical etc. Send in paperwork. Get references etc. then garda vetting had to be done and that’s done now too. Got email to say it’s gone to contract stage. Still waiting. With Covid I believe they are accepting scanned copies and you don’t need them notarized etc.
Seems to be a very slow process but hopefully will hear back soon.
    Best of luck.

Thank you for the reply, terribly slow process altogether considering most jobs are marked urgent !

Hi cassy, where you contacted about one of the jibs that were sent out on the Kildare panel recently?

  • Registered Users Posts: 17 Sportsmedic

So this journey to get a job all started in March 2017. After online application and eventually getting an interview I was placed 13 on the panel. I’ve expressed interest when the hob suited and 4 years later I’ve been offered a job and given a start date in April. I’m delighted but really folks how the hell can an agency hired by the state to fill vacancies justify this. So really what I’m saying to everyone is don’t lose heart. You may still get a job. Thanks for all the comments and advice along the road. Best of luck everyone.

Hello I applied for the Clerical Officer, Grade III based in manorhamilton in December 2020. I have an interview next week. I’m wondering what will I be asked in the interviews and have anyone for any advice? The interview is online. I want to be fully prepared for any question so any advice is really appreciated.

Also wondering are people still being offered places from 2017? I applied for this role in dec 2020 so is 2017 expired or does it expire only for certain areas of the country? All a little confusing.

Hi, I had my interview back in about 2 months ago, it was held by CPL. Very easy nd relaxed, they asked me to talk abit about myself at the start and then the rest was based on the competencies I used the ones I had give in my application form. I printed it off so I could look ovr it as I was talking to them. Got an email about 2 weeks later to say I had passed and was placed on the panel.

In regards to the 2017 campaign its still active and a job offer went out for Sligo last week. Hope this helps, best of luck with ur interview.

I had one incident where they sent an expression, I accepted, got it and then a few days later they called and we're like sorry, job does not actually exist anymore.

Hi there just had an expression of interest accepted and heading towards pre employment clearances, what does this entail please does anyone know, please?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 868 ✭✭✭tringle

References, lots of references. Occupational health check. Lots of forms. Garda clearance. It took me 5 months and 6 references. They ask for three references and had specified which employments they wanted them from. But due to covid one of the companies had shut down and the HR manager couldn't be contacted. They will also want details of absenteeism in the past two years. And confirmation from social welfare of any periods of unemployment. They will also check any extended time period spent out of the country. My Garda clearance was fine and I had specified on it that I had never lived anywhere else. But on my application form I had a qualification from a London University, it took a lot of effort from me to prove that this was from a five day course I did in Dublin, the lecturers came to us. Birth cert and marriage cert if the name on you birth cert is not the same name that you have applied with. Due to covid it took me 30 days to get my birth cert and only then did they see I was obviously a married female and requested my marriage cert. And then they took ages with the contract. They keep saying do not give notice in you current job until you have received your contract. I had contacted the line manager in the department I was going to and had agreed a provisional start date knowing I needed to give one months notice. The contract wasn't forthcoming and I had to email them one morning saying if I didn't give notice that day then I wouldn't be able to start on the agreed date. They will also look for photo ID and proof of address.
I have found HR to be extremely slow,I'm not going to say inefficient because I don't know the circumstances they work under, but very slow. The department I work in has a high turnover of staff and since I have been there we have never had all positions filled due to waiting for HR to clear new starts.
Congrats on the offer and best of luck in the job.
