Another fine summeresque morning here, but Jesus, that wind. Gusting close to gale force again and is actually making those distinctive winterly growling noises.

    New Moon

wind yesterday was certainly cold, tomorrow looks like we could get some warmth, all next week looking very cool indeed with temps struggling to hit 13C. We could really do with a few warm days now just like what we had last May.

Away in Donegal for a weeks Hols and got very lucky. Been wall to wall blue sky since Monday and generally high teens. Breezy at times but not too bad. Sunny all day again today and warm in sheltered spots.

The West has been lucky, it's been generally cold /chilly in the east, hasn't really been a warm day here yet this year. The sunny days have been nice but that east wind really has taken away the effect of the sunny days.

What do you consider a "warm" day may I ask? 20c or more? 'Cause March 30th and April 8th were definitely warm here, also in many other places too.

"Dry and sunny in many areas today, although rather cloudy this morning over of the south and southwest."

^ Met Éireann. It's continuous blue skies here.

Thanks Syran glad your getting the sun. Monday and Tuesday last were nice days sunny and warm enough. Things since then have been very meh tbh. I'm not sure how far South the sun is getting though and each day has been colder since last Tuesday.

i consider warm to be 18C+ and very warm 25C+ and hot 30C+

also depends on the wind. An easterly wind really takes the edge off temperatures.

Today however, is feeling warm and very pleasant with blue skies and very little wind.

Belmullet is definitely the place to be at so far this May. Up to the 6th, these are its statistics

    Rainfall: 0.0mm
Mean temperature: 12.0c (+0.9c above its whole May average)
    Sunshine: 77 hours

Already 77 hours of sunshine for the first 6 days of May!?

    Information gathered from Met Éireann

Scratch that, an hour later and it's even more bleak.

This better not be down for the day. It's sunny just up the road in North Clare!

20.4C in Castlebar, you can smell the gorse fires and the smoke is leaving an unusual haze around the town.

It's roasting out there but when the little light breeze comes it's beautiful!

Lovely day in Kerry with sunshine through broken cloud, got up to 18.7C here near Tralee, felt warmer inland around Killarney.

Good to hear they got those gorse fires under controll near Easkey in Sligo, can see the plume of smoke from today

Unbroken sunshine and a high of 19.8C today in Galway city - glorious!

As rain starts to come up from the south on Friday, the winds start to turn southerly too bringing up some quite warm air. With the moisture and warm air combined, this is quite a recipe for heavy downpours and possibly, THUNDERSTORMS, though of course more likely across the UK. This is what the BBC said on their latest forecast.
