    Near blue skies here in West Clare now, no rain recorded since 4am this morning.

    Very unexpected, great day, if not a little windy.

    Bitterly cold in the wind, which is thankfully a little less strident... occasional sudden deluges.. The mountains to the north and east have a tiny scattering of snow atop. Just a soupcon!

    Just to compare how much further west today's low tracked compared to how it was looking when this thread was started, below is the actual position at 8 am this morning and the same chart posted in the op. This 200-km westward shift brought with it the warmer airmass from the east.
