How long after i buy health insurance before i can use it?

    I am in the process of buying health insurance, will probably do so tomorrow. Is there a peiod after buying it before i can use it for say a&e, a scan, gp visits, etc

    Health insurance only partially covers what you are looking for.
    Usually the waiting period is six months, unless you have a pre-existing condition, in which case it's five years.

    It's of no use in A&E, and will pay a portion of what you pay your gp after you hit the excess you've to spend first
