Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm still not counting any chickens, or any other animals for that matter just yet.

Don't be so paranoid, this game was dead on arrival

    Tucking into a full Irish..
Funny listening to BT say one team is a well oiled machine and the other is Arsenal .
Geez, Arsenal are a pt off second there is a reason for that.
It's like suddenly Liverpool are great again, we all know we are far from it and far from a well oiled machine. We are a Fiat at best, fine one day and broke the next.

There are 10 of them in yellow, for those of us that are counting.

I like Wenger. I respect his legacy in English football. I appreciate how he conducts himself with class. I suppose because, inherently I've always been pro Wenger, it's not enjoyable to watch to see his teams being humiliated on, what seems like, a weekly basis.

It's also sad that, for Wenger in 2017, being tactical in a big game means trying to sit deep, hit on the counter attack and bypass a press through long balls. Compared to Klopp, and a lot of other coaches too, Wenger has looked like a coach from a bygone era, possibly because that's what he is. There's so many flaws and faults in his set up of the Arsenal team today (and in every match but not every team can take advantage of that). It's time for Wenger to go, it's been time for Wenger to go for what seems like an eternity.

Wenger will get so much stick for having Sanchez on the bonch .

No surprises so far in this one. Arsenal toothless against a top six side and Liverpool cruising against another top six side. Burnley will be a much tougher ask for Liverpool next time out.

Obviously Lallana has been the standout so far, but Wijnaldum has been excellent as well. No one in red playing badly of course, but thought Wijnaldum deserved a mention as he isn't an obvious candidate for it today.

    I love Wijnaldum. Brilliant player.

Don't be so tough on yourselves, you're an Alfa Romeo ;)

    Sanchez on

    Well that was predictable.

    Clyne beaten by Sanchez already.

Would love to see Liverpool play smart and do a defensive job on Arsenal in second half.

    Next goal determines the result

    WHAT A SAVE !

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,855 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

    Great save, danger signs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Milner twice got it under no pressure there and hoofed it away.

What a save, not easy for Liverpool so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

    Thats a great save.

Incredible from Mig there, not just for the save, but for intentionally tipping it onto the bar so he could then catch the ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,465 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

It's one thing saving it, it's another to push it up and over bar.
    Great goal keeping

    What a wonderful turn.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Klavan wins the ball, then messes up the pass and is completely out of position.

Completely different Arsenal time after half time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Arsenal back in this now. If they started this well it might be a different scoreline

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,855 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

A 3rd on the break to kill the game would be pretty sweet. Dangerous free now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,495 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

This free is going into the top corner.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Good place for a free kick

First challenge was a foul, second was mostly a dive.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Could Coutinho recreate his free kick at the start of the season?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,465 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Arsenal will need to score two and hope Liverpool score no more to make it 2-2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

That's too fcuking easy. Mignolet should never have come out for that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,111 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

To be fair Liverpool players are dropping to the floor with incredible ease.

    Ah fcuk. Crap defending.

    What was Mig doing?!?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Shooting himself in the foot there. Quick Arsenal second on the way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Welbeck got lucky with his touch but thats a very composed finish.

Over-committing - Klavan was wayyyyy up the field just a moment earlier.

Liverpool are getting the next goal.
    or Arsenal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

That's such a tight finish if Mignolet just stays in his goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

You cant bench your star player for tactical reasons and then be amazed that he changes the game.

    What was Wenger thinking.

very sloppy defending. From the moment Firmino hit the ground, there was no engagement from anyone from Liverpool to the attack. Sanchez let run too far.

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,855 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

Liverpool will need a 3rd to win this game (or draw even). Almost certain to concede again.

There are some impressively bad haircuts on show in this game.

Wish coutinho would shoot instead of lashing it across the box everytime
