The Icelandic Met sferic map is the only one consistent with reports so far.

If you mean you're getting the "Oops! Something went wrong." message, yeah I'm getting that too.

They ran out of API requests on their plan with google maps, must be getting more traffic than normal. :D

More flashes around Castlebar, perfectly calm outside though, no thunder, no rain.

    Big storm heading towards Cork

Spotted that but had no idea whether it looked like it would land or not. Predict an ETA?

Seems to be moving fairly quickly, landfall in around about an hour perhaps

EDIT: or less seeing sferics showing up near land atm

Incredible clap of thunder there about 5 mins ago knocking power out temporarily. Torrential rain now and fork lightening every 2~3 mins.

The wrath of god descended that time. Most of the lightning seemed cloud to cloud but I'd guess that one came down on the substation on the Fethard Road. Some of the streetlights went out but blinked back gradually one by one.

It's over now and the rain has eased off.

Best show I've seen anywhere for quite some time.

    I LOVE thunder. Just sayin'.

Exceptionally humid here in Castlebar all evening but I think the worst of it is over, the temp seems to have gone down significantly over the last hour or so.

Edit: ppl in my locale seem to be reporting differently. Haven't seen any sign of lightening strikes myself.

Going for a walk in a few minutes, on a hill with a good view towards where the storm should be, saw some flashes already.

    Temperature has been rising too.

Thunder and rain stopped. Sheet lightening ongoing east of Clonmel.

I can see that from here in nw Wexford.

This must go down as one of the greatest nights for watching.

High level lightning that can be seen at a great distance. If you're not underneath nice and dry and a warm night and very constant flashes.
    Brilliant.

Is that more or less it now for south tipp/waterford please?

Started raining here now, then a huge flash to the south that lit the whole sky - counted 119 seconds before hearing the boom!

Here is where the latest hi-res UK Met has the bulk of the rain at 6 am. They are hinting that that front could become very active tomorrow when it starts to push eastwards during the late morning into the afternoon.

The odd distant rumble here that sets the dogs around the whole housing estate off.
