Not a sausage in Dublin 16, but stormy looking skies to my north (over the city centre and north Dublin).

Flashes and lights dimming in Swords. Thunder quite loud. Not much rain.

    North County Dublin .
Two massive Bangs ....followed 5 seconds later by a serious wallop of lightning.
A couple of rumbles to the south - Airport direction.

None here in West Offaly yet,but a total all day eclipse, very heavy rain this morning, dense black cloud blocking out the sun.As people used to say in my father's time"the sky is on the ground".also warm and humid, definitely ideal conditions for thunder and lightning.

Where did these come from it seemed like there was no way that we would get thunder I take back what I said about ME but not about the West pitch dark with nothing happening

I was out with the dog when that appeared out of nowhere :)
The first forked lightning and the loudest crack I've experienced for a few years! I estimated it was about a km away but moved away quickly.

Same in Lusk. That was the best crack of thunder in ages.

Was out playing with my daughter on the road in Balbriggan, main CG strike about 500m away and very weak strike (just a loud bang) on a street light a few meters behind us. We got lucky.
