That would cause total carnage at this time of year.

Here is one for ye :pac: ....

    6nrHA9x.png

Might not be even there tomorrow but what is showing up is a period of cyclonic zonal weather being driven by a strong jet the next week or so.

It's the same timeline as sryan has above.

But this LP does look very interesting.
    GEM has it here.
    screenshot_1.png

    And GFS has it too.
    screenshot_1.png

The GFS has it plonked there till at least Thursday.
But here's Monday's chart showing all that warm/roasting moist air coming from the continent.
Recipe for thunderstorms I think. Even in this country.

i wonder what it will be called,i forget where we left off, thats the trees and summer folliage bollixed then.
this system could suck some warmth northwards after it pushes away with the azores high building behind it.

ECM showing it as well if a day later. Both GFS and ECM show it very slow to leave our shores. Must keep an eye on this one. Long way off and plenty of twists and turns no doubt.

that's a very depressing image for most of us who like decent weather.

There's decent weather and then there's 30 degrees plus weather in France with crops burning up in the fields and young people heading off to the beach while they leave their old folks at home with no air conditioning.

I'd still rather be in this country.

This is called FI (Fantasy Island ) for a reason.
Unless it's forecast within 5 days, take it with a pinch of salt.

As Captain Barbossa says in The Pirates of the Carribean "they're just guidelines".:)

The GFS showing two deep lows moving close to if not up over Ireland around next weekend. The ECM showing one low but maybe with less tight isobars. To Note the Jet is very strong around next weekend. these lows have been showing up now in one form or another for the last few days. Bit off yet of course to know for certain.

Still showing a low but more offshore and less gradient. Will see after a few more runs.

A finger of the azores high lerking out to the southwest of Ireland again, then establishing itself to the west of us,would keep things relatively dry but cool...

As usual different models different scenarios.

The GEM has High Pressure coming up over Ireland on Monday the 12th and moving over us in a NE direction and by Thursday giving us a warm air feed to our south. But the HP seems to be moving away to the NE.
    screenshot_1.png

GFS on the other hand brings in HP over us on Sunday the 11th. But by Thursday it joins up with the Greenland High and goes NW and brings in cooler air from the NE. Hopefully there's a halfway house and the HP gets centred on us for a while.

high pressure still building over Ireland next week, the orientation of the high keeps changing position, consequently shifting the potential warmth around the country,

What more could you ask for on mid summers day...

Any updates on charts for coming weeks

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 11,977 Mod ✭✭✭✭Meteorite58

IMO The Jet having been North of us allowing the warm plume and high pressure produce warm settled weather will start to move down over us and eventually taking a more S'ly route over next week end and looks to be introducing shallow low pressure systems and less warm temperatures next week. Signs that the Jet could take a more Northerly route the week end afer next with temps climbing again but that as they say is a long way off.
