    Autocar have it as their main test this week . They really aren't impressed with it. Passat interior no 6 cyl diesel option surprised they think it's not distintive enough the list goes on . They put it last in list of 6 cars in that sector

    I was referring to the function rather than the mechanism, must have had you confused.

    Would the pedal being floor hinged in the Arteon as opposed to hung from above have anything to do with it?

    Edit: is the Arteon pedal floor hinged?

    Looks-wise, it is preferable to the Passat. I quite like the interior, even if it is based on the Passat. It's one of the few interiors nowadays that has the screen incorporated into the centre console, and doesn't make it look like an afterthought.

    Comparing it to the A5 Sportback, I would happily dole out the extra few bob for an SE spec with various options. I do think it looks better than the Arteon.
