Alcatel ontouch 10.16 from tesco....is the speaker any good?

I got one of these phones to make calls using a loudspeaker while I'm at my computer.....it seems a bit bizarre that there is no option to switch it on.... maybe I'm just missing something small....i also tried plugging a 3.5mm jack into the audio port on the top of the phone and it didn't send the sound to the speakers.…
