Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Valencia tackle was ok but Costas was a yellow card? Exact same tackle except Costa only used 1 foot, what happened to this side rule that Keown made up

The sending off ruined this game.

I don't think that was a deciding factor
We always wanted Pogba but similar players they are not

    Scummy from costa, finally carded

Not similar, but he looked to be the next best midfielder available after Pogba and I 100% believe ye would have gone for him (and got him, bigger club than Chelsea).

Turns out Kante is miles ahead of him, but Pogba has to improve, he was too good at Juventus to play this badly. I hope he doesn't of course and his next transfer is for £5m to a second-rate French team, but that's no surprise to you I'm sure. ;)

Chelsea should have buried this well before now.

Rojo only player who has really turned up tonight for us.

Few other defenders have aswell but Rojo stands out for me

I'd like to see Valencia's sprint in his recovery run clocked there. Amazing sprint for the 90th minute of the game.

I really wish De Gea would leave utd, he's keeping them in games

Taking Mkhitaryan off for Fellaini really say it all about this utd team under Jose.

Did Rojo stamp or attempt to stamp on Hazard there?

    Smalling is DREADFUL.

    Rojo is top class

Hahaha in stitches. You back to Chelsea this week??

City could only scrape a draw in their last game so i'd imagine so.

Hazard will be sore in the morning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

We've missed some serious chances tonight.

It should have been 3 or 4 if it wasnt for some good GKing in the first half and shocking misses in the 2nd.

Do people actually think that if Chelsea had the choice in August between Pogba and Kante, they would have taken the latter anyway??

    No they wouldn't.

That Pogba deal was done and dusted informally before the Euros, never mind after it. Chelsea knew that so sought the alternative options. Kante being the outstanding choice.

Chelsea would have paid 90 million for Pogba too if he wanted to go there. And Conte would have gladly took him.

So this nonsense of "Chelsea were so much smarter not to pay all that money and instead buy the cheaper and "better" option" is a load of balloney.

    But Barcelona lost .

Credit to 11 man Chelsea running the clock down in the corner.

    Testament to 10 man united

Don't know how ya can say they've been wasting time, spent the last 50 mins in and around United's box

Kick Hazard was the only tactic Mourinho had tonight

I didn't suggest otherwise. It still ruined the game as a spectacle though.

What's the hahaha about? I didn't say he did, I asked if he did. Since a replay wasn't shown I assume he didn't.

Didn't want to win it anyway.

    How bloody small is Kante.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,406 ✭✭✭Korat

Chelsea were always going to win that. Better team won.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,495 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Well played Chelsea, hate that they're having such success but you have to admire Conte, he's a top class manager and his passion is unmatched, very likeable fella.

Kante is a force of nature.

Wait, is AIG a Chelsea fan again?

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,754 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

Well done Chelsea, it is a pity it was not a 11 v 11.

I think this is good for United in a way, still would have preferred to have won, but it was the lowest priority given EL gives CL football as a prize.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 960 ✭✭✭Crackle

Thank **** for that. Should have been a more comfortable score in the end but a win will do just nicely.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Chelsea through and well deserved. Chelsea the better team and Conte the better coach. He's taken a team that finished 10th to the summit of the table, he could take them to a double and they do it with a swagger not seen at Chelsea in well over a decade. Wonderful.

Not buying this at all. Even the circus land at the Santiago Bernabeu didn't want to pay that money. What makes you think Chelsea would pay it if Madrid wouldn't?
