maybe she should lose the condescending tone?

She's probably p1ssed off with the same 'clients' coming back again and again looking for more and more!

How much did these lads get in redress, even before the CaraNua money is counted?

There isn't an ounce of compassion in that woman. She speaks as if the people who she's being paid to help are a nuisance at best and criminals at worst. Horrible to listen to her.

Only 30,000 calls a year, that's more than Joe gets.

Mary made a big political mistake by telling the truth.

Why should today's hardpressed tax payers have to fund this nonsense.

Gravy Train scamming by professional 'victims'.

She may be a good administrator (I don't know and unlike Joe I don't make calls like this within 20seconds of talking to someone), but she is a terrible PR/spokesperson for them to put on air.

Joe only takes around 400 calls per year. But he gets €1000 for each call.

I agree, when you work in that field you do get tired of the people who just want everything in life handed to them on a plate. There are many genuine cases but probably the same amount of chancers who push it and push it as far as they can go.

I know of a guy who got his glasses, clothes, rehab, etc. paid for and walked out of the rehab because they wouldn't send him cigarettes.

How many people got €100,000 each before they realised they didn't have unlimited funds to be paying out, and what did they claim the €100,000 was to be used for?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,886 ✭✭✭✭Roger_007

Am I right in thinking that the €15k is in addition to the compo they have already received? If I am, then I think they have a cheek looking for more!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,884 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

Got a stairlift.....fell off it......couldn't make it up.

Wants a downstairs bedroom. Or an elevator probably.

Local TD for me (same village even, Ratoath). She'll struggle next time around.....and that's even with the lack of competition she has around here.

Fingers crossed, she's already been set up monetary wise pending the downfall of Fine Gael, as are the rest of them

    Is Mary Higgins a counsellor?

I don't know, but she'll need the services of one after this.

They were probably going to put in an inshurdance claim for the fall until they realised they would be claming from themself.

No chance of GamerCon today I reckon......had such potential. :(

COST €70K, doesn't mean there was €70K of work done.

Not to slight the experience of others, and not directly related to this subject, but as a man who has worked all his life and never got a thing........it does the blood pressure no good to listen to the likes of Liveline and it's ilk.

I'm thinking that what we're listening to today is a bunch of greedy ba$tards, (including Joe).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,069 ✭✭✭✭Dan Jaman

Ten grand? If you'd had one less bathroom, you could have paid it yourself.

Maybe if the government chased down the institutions for the true cost of the redress then these people could be looked after . Church have still a lot to answer for.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,356 ✭✭✭Right2Write

Thank God he didn't get the 10K for his counsellor course. He'd be out helping more to bleed the system.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

Joe deliberately acting the thick and being a b0ll0x again to appease his callers.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,356 ✭✭✭Right2Write

This is ridiculous. Mary should tell Joe to piss off and hang up the phone.

If Dermot was involved, it would have cost twice as much!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,597 ✭✭✭djemba djemba

Another way to look at this is Ray has gotten €70,000 already

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,069 ✭✭✭✭Dan Jaman

"I want to be fair to Mary..."

That'd be a first, for any caller.

Gamercon is too modern an issue for Joe. He's only comfortable in the usual **** topics.
