    Alison's dish looks complicated!!!

    As do the desserts....

Glad it's them and not me!

Why is that sorbet a "rochet" (sp?) and not a quinelle (sp?)

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,350 ✭✭✭Cortina_MK_IV

Quenelle, 2 hands to make the shape and Rocher made with one hand. The desserts are complex... The ball one looks like he's spraying a Micra. I'd hate to think what they cost.

    I'm getting anxious watching this!

Alison was fine in that so unless she makes a mess in the invention test she should be ok. Bye bye Brody?

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

They all had their hair (those who have it!) well clipped back in the pro kitchen..... why not now back in the MC kitchen???

(Hair and food prep is a particular bugbear of mine, if i had my way they'd all be in shower caps)

    Or Fumbi?

He seems the weakest of this lot at the moment.

    Fumbi's doing another dessert.

    Oh alison......

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Was someone bleeding out on their plate just there, or just artfully drizzling some red jus???

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

    What's wrong with the parsnips???

Get the distinct impression the other two are just parroting what TK said...

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

How did Alison manage to UNDERcook the venison???

She said she was going to cook it three times?

  • Registered Users Posts: 587 ✭✭✭twill

Surely they can't take Fumbi through after that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,263 ✭✭✭robyntmorton

That's the end of Fumbi so. Weak in the pro kitchen, and awful there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

First time I've seen Alison other than super-confident.

    Good round all round!

Looking forward to tomorrow now... wonder how some of the stronger personalities (DJ lyndsey I'm looking at you!) will cope?

i think that even Fumbi is relieved to be gone - he was well out of his depth

Alison won't make another mistake like that again!

V good show - some v good contestants.. v proud of Steve - he was the only one who really showed that he learnt alot in the restaurant and is turning his skills up notches already.. fair play to him

I was anxious watching them in the restaurant.. the rest of the show will make for great viewing - some great talent and I really like the structure of the competition

I just can't warm to Alison. Way too sure of herself. Is that a D4 accent? Much prefer Shauna of the Irish ladies. Not keen on Lorna either. If she slags off her mother again I'll crack up. Steve seems to be the best of the guys. Hoping for a female winner this year. Glad Fumbi went. He shouldn't have got through the last round really. Looking forward to seeing how the other 6 get on.

After getting shouted at in the pro kitchen I felt the Fumbmeister needed to nail the invention test. On looking at this dish I thought he might have but the judges poo-poo-ed it a bit and then when it didn't work technically I think he was the right one to go.

I like Alison's self assurance, she is very honest. I hate it when people talk themselves down, she seems grounded. She critqued herself accurately today.

Saliha and Brody I thought were near the bottom but they are both doing OK.

Steve the stand-out overall so far. Will see if someone stands out tomorrow, probably Lorna or Giovanna and from what we saw DJ Lindsay could be making a haims of it. I could see the Indian dentist fella possibly cracking under the pressure too.

Menu here, pretty good value for a treat of a lunch I think.

9 snots sterling for the apple crumble chocolate dome yolk.

12 snots sterling for Brodie's Souffle.

His chocolate fondant at the mid-session interval was a reckless move too.

Steve Davis nailed the invention test but Stephen hendry's forraged seaweed stole the show.

Q - you know the way the contestants are now split up for the restaurant challenge; are they in the same groups as they were in on Monday? The red and blue groups? I can't remember..

  • Registered Users Posts: 587 ✭✭✭twill

I can't quite remember for certain, but I think that's the case.

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Haha, that wobble machine for doing the spiral is hilarious :D

Scallop dish looked GAWJUS, and I don't even like the things!

  • Registered Users Posts: 587 ✭✭✭twill

I just want to dive into all those dishes, they look so pretty and delicious.

All the contestants look terrified at the prospect of reproducing it!

DJ Lyndsey (can we not stop calling her DJ now that the other Lyndsey is gone?) is not looking AT ALL confident doing that filleting
