Garden not draining at all

Our back garden has not been draining at all for a few weeks now. The water levels don't seem to rise or drop. I tried spiking and digging it with a fork but the water just sits in the hole.

I imagine if it was a burst pipe that the water would just continue to rise? There have been no indications that there is a leak, water pressure inside seems normal and the mains tank in the attic is not constantly refilling.

    Does anybody have any advice?

    Thanks

Given how dry the winter has been overall it's odd that you'd have waterlogging, you say a few weeks, it was okay in January then? Is it the same across the garden (how big is it and is it flat or slopping?) Are you in an estate or one off plot?

well, if the water has reached a level where it's found a way to drain, it will stop rising.

Yes, it was fine in January and early winter.

There doesn't seem to be much of a slope, seems fairly flat. It is mainly in the centre of the back garden, not by the border walls to next-door. It is by the path attached to the house and then runs down the centre of the garden. None at all in the front garden or other side garden.

The garden is not in great condition. It is overgrown with brambles and weeds.

    We are in an estate.
