Just in case anyone's on mobile, gally74's location is listed as "knockdoe, galway 150 ASL"

Can I ask gally74, are you talking about meters or feet ASL?

All I'm getting is 2 minute windows of 40kt winds and wet hailstones.

    Hopefully they'll get better :)

The showers will be increasingly of snow from now on and then I suspect exclusively snow for most from the early hours.

Can Dublin expect anything overnight? Haven't found anything that says Dublin could be in for a chance of snow bar the TAF from DUB.

Wild wild night up here. Rare I am online at this hour, but the gusts are ferocious and terrifying.

A crescendo of sheer noise, terrifying, and shaking the cottage, then sudden silence at the peak.

Never heard the like. Every time I fall asleep it wakes me.

No snow etc on the doorstep and cannot see further than that.

    Just this wind.

    OUCH! Another one...

West Connemara; 400 ft asl, at the foot of steep sheer mountains,

Flew into Dublin airport at around 6 this evening, it was 14 degrees as I left the carpark. By the time I got home to Galway City just after 9, it was down to 2 degrees and sleeting!

Dewpoint -0.3 here now in West Clare.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,088 ✭✭✭pauldry

    its currently 2.1c in Sligo

Was sleeting a while ago but no real heavy showers at all.

A few on the mountains but the activity of the heavy ones is moving towards the very Northwest.

Might change overnight but nothing much as yet
