Flowers/plants for each calendar' month

Hello,

Looking for info on how to "build" a garden around my small home in that way so every month of the year I will get a green plant to blossom ,well in some way.
I presume that will apply from March to November only but I guess there could be plants that have the willingness to survive out winter.

Hellebores are good winter ones, mine have been blooming since Christmas, tolerate shade well too.

Most plants will survive winters but I presume you want plants that thrive and possibly flower in winter?
