    This I did an update. I have lost all my photos and downloads.

    Also I had to reinstall chrome?

    Any way I can recover these files

    I think it updated me to windows 8.1.

    Layout is all new

    It is unlikely a windows update actually deleted content.

    Open File Explorer
    Go to C:
    Do a search for

    *.jpg

    This will search any image files you may have.

    Try

    cd \
    dir *.mp4 /s

    (or other file type)
    in a command prompt

    also check Previous Versions in the folder properties

    Windows 8. I have since found the files, but they weren't in the right place. I moved all back but seem to have used up 50gb up.

    It's like I have double of it. But can only one of each

    Can you tell me where they were? Curious as someone else had the same problem here yesterday.

    When I searched they came under user name etc. But if just went to folder there would be nothing there. No videos of photos.

    When I moved them back it said 50gb of stuff was been copied to the folders they needed to be in
