Hypothetically speaking - If you learned that your mother had worked as an escort for a significant period of her life would it make you think differently of her, and would you feel that your siblings and/or father deserved to know about it?

If this question is of too personal a nature then please ignore it.

Fair play for putting yourself forward for this thread.

    Hi lara,

Welcome to Boards... good AMA. As a 'John' myself, I feel the recent changes to criminalize the purchase of Sexual services in Ireland are misguided, stupid (as in absolutely impossible to police) and downright sexist (only going to affect men, who were too spineless to speak up for themselves during the debate) ...whats your opinion?

I understand their need to do it thou, I wholeheartedly disagree with foreign girls being put into houses to work for pimps. They must have an awful existence being told who to have sex with and when. It's true thou it will mainly affect men ! I think it's time you got yourself a regular independent girl to visit. That's what I'd be doing if I was a punter

1 Do you travel around different towns and cities? Or are you based in one place?
2 What is the strangest request you have received from a client?
3 How long do you plan on working as an escort?
4 What's the record for a client to come on a one hour appointment?

I travel around the country yes
I've answered all your other questions earlier on in the thread

    Hi lara, interesting thread!
Is there any character in movies or Television that you especially admire or despise who are involved in your profession?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,234 ✭✭✭deandean

Thank you Lara for this great thread.
I have a question for you which you surely are very experienced in:
With my OH I usually last about five minutes; ten tops.
What please is a good strategy for a guy to survive / make best use of an hour of love making with you (or his OH)?

If or when you have children would you recommend this career (part-time or full-time) to them? If not then why not?

I remember your threatening to do this in the thread on escorting last month and I'm glad you did, it's good to see a light shone on the practicalities of it imo.

Do you have any idea at all how much of it goes on? Is it an epidemic or are you in a very specialised field?

Any other wider trends you've observed in terms of the backgrounds of the women working the way you do (maybe i shouldn't presume you know a load of escorts, sorry!)

    Hi Lara.

Have you had any men, first time users of such a service become emotional after the act at the thought of having cheated?

I see men in a completely different light now. I find myself looking at married couples all the time and thinking to myself hhmmm I wonder if he sees escorts. You have to understand, a lot of my clients have grown to trust me. They have shown me pics of their stunning wives and beautiful children so now I know that it can be any man I know! My dad, my brother, my uncle , my brother in law .... anyone.  And on the other hand I find myself looking at women and think hhmmm I wonder if she does what I do.
I've become hard as nails over the last couple of years. I've developed a thick skin and I take everything anyone says to me now especially men I've dated with a pinch of salt.
What I do will always be going on and men will always visit us. It's terrible for wives and girlfriends but it's fact.
I have one friend who I can vent to at times if I need to but as I've already said I've learned to leave it at the back of my mind once I'm home.

Well that shows that your job has affected how you see other people. If I see a married couple it would never cross my mind to assume anything other than they are faithful to each other; obviously not all are but it doesn't enter my head at all unless there's some hard evidence. I also do not look at women (or men) and wonder if they do what you do.

You also go on to say or imply that you don't trust what men tell you. How can you have a relationship with a man if you have doubts in the back of your mind? Not all men cheat on their wives or girlfriends; I have no idea how many do but I don't jump to conclusions like you appear to be doing. Sorry that may seem harsh but what I mean is that maybe your job brings you into contact with men who cheat on their wives and then you feel that it is more common than maybe it is (I don't know how common that it is).

Of course not all men cheat. I just wouldn't be as naive anymore as I was a few years ago. I don't come to conclusions as such but doing what I do it's hard for me not to think more about it .
And no it wouldn't enter your head . Why would it ? It enters mine because married men visit me all the time and I'm in this line of work.
    That's the reason.

    Hi
You just have to go on to certain escorting sites to clearly see this goes on daily, in nearly every county in the country

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,875 ✭✭✭deadanonymau5

So Ive a few more questions :D

What was the best gift a client gave you? most expensive?

Before you built up a regular client base, did you ever meet someone a second time and forget you met them (only realising from them mentioning it)?

What hours are the most sought after for appointments?

    Is erectile dysfunction common?

Really fascinating thread, thanks for letting us see inside your world.

You say you only see regulars now and up to 5 a day for 3-4 days. How big is your pool of regular guys?

Apologies if my question was too personal for you to answer!

Fascinating AMA, I've really enjoyed it so far.

Couple of questions off the top of my head.

    1) Do you fake an orgasm with your clients?

    2) Are you worried if you do decide to leave the profession your CV will look a bit blank?

    3) If your regulars were to drop off for whatever reasons, would you advertise again or quit?

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Obviously women in your line of work have to be careful, but have you ever heard of a guy being caught in a 'sting' where he is blackmailed and/or held up?

Do you have a cover story in case you bump into someone you know at the hotel?

No i would always know if I met them before because I'd have them saved on my phone

Lunchtime is the busiest and after dark but I never work after dark

    1. Always
    2. No because I have a "normal" job too
    3. I always advertise regardless

i used work the front desk of a hotel, most of the time they are aware and dont care... as long as theres no drama its a room booked and paid for.
do you have a system to ensure you stay protected? in case of an emergency, i know you said you only see regulars but still..

do you think tv shows like secret life of a call girl glamourise the job?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,814 ✭✭✭TPD

I'm a firm believer that prostitution always has and will be a part of society, and should be legalised and regulated, but in discussions it has been put forward that the girls involved have had some personal trauma / difficult upbringing that may lead them to this line of work. Would you say this is true for you? Not looking for anything more than a yes/no. Very interesting ama, thanks!

    A few questions;

How old are you, i don't want exact age but over or under thirty?

Do you have to travel far or do you choose the location & hotel with your regular clients?

Have you come across any girls who also do this but also work or are you very much on your own and keep to yourself?
