This is why Engineers get paid well. They solve problems. In the grand scheme of things id say that issue is small one for them.

Engineers don't get paid well, definitely not well enough to live in Dublin. IT's very much an undervalued service.

Maybe that should have read; Engineers can sure as hell charge enough.

The multi nationals they work for make serious profits alright, but engineers themselves see little of it.

Various aspects of engineering. Each one drives a nice car has nice perks and tell me the pay is good. Must be all bull****ting me so.

Who's going to pay €2k / month to rent these new apartments. Even the engineers on this project can't afford that amount.

Happened to listen to KCLR fm this morning and they referred to the NQ as been between South Kilkenny and Waterford, quiet petty journalism. Its in Waterford.

Its like they are referring to a demilitarised zone like that in N/S Korea.

    Well it kind of is...

Plus if they didn't mention KK then no one in aKk would listen to it/care

What do you mean it kind of is? It either is or it isn’t, and one look at a map will tell you it isn’t

Its on the edge of Waterford on the other side of the river. Its 100% Waterford but if you were to describe where the North Quays is, then between South Kilkenny and Waterford isn't a bad way to describe it.

Like fvck it's between! It's in Waterford like Plunkett Station is in Waterford.

Every thread here that suggests something positive for Waterford is full of trolls and lurkers and plain ignorant people ready to voice opinions about why something should not happen here. They are like an unpleasant and incurable rash. Always re-appearing. The river is not the boundary between Waterford and Kilkenny, just as it is not the boundary between Wexford and Kilkenny (in New Ross) or Limerick and Clare (in Limerick city). The last time I looked this was the Waterford city page. Is there so little happening elsewhere in this region?

Hold on. I'm a troll just because I said its a Kilkenny radio so thats why they described it as such? And if your wondering exactly where it is then the description also helps. I'm hardly some undercover Kilkenny troll with a name like Deiseen who's been posting here for a while.

Not you at all Deiseen. It just gets tiresome to see mischievous comments. The boundary is what it is and has changed many times over the past 500 years. The main thing is that any development into Waterford city has spin off for counties like KIlkenny and Wexford, which is exactly why both those counties are willing to invest in Waterford airport.

Clearly in Waterford as is Plunket Station. County boundary is the dotted line, city boundary is the red line

Waterford golf club is in Kilkenny. No doubt about it and play in the Leinster competitions.

How does it take away from its status though?

I was joking but that's an interesting aspect you mention. So presumably Waterford City's representation in Munster is by Faithlegg or the Municipal

Yesssss but it is also known as the port of Waterford. Go down there and you will see it wrote all over the place.

Not at all, they could have referred to the NQs project in Waterford City. The only positive was the good working relationship between both councils.
Why are you listening to enemy radio?! :D

The driver was a KK man!

By "mid July at the latest" according to an article in News and Star a few weeks back. Apparently it's costing €120k to print planning application and it will be delivered to council offices in a truck. All in News and Star 2 weeks ago.

Harrington (can't remember the chaps first name, is it Niall?) was on WLR the other day and said the plans should be with the council (hopefully) by the end of July, 2 weeks time.

Before going to print they are ensuing everything is in order, also think he stated it would take 1-2 weeks to print all the documentation.

He also said in his eyes the North Quays is now done and thats why they are shifting their focus onto Kilbarry, all in all it sounded really positive
