Open claim insured through broker

    There is a potential injury claim on my policy from an accident in november, im only finding out about this now.
    Anyway i cant get insurance now because of the open claim, i called the insurance company looking to get a quote and they said they cannot insure me because i went through a vroker and the broker cannot get anybody else to insure me now either

    Anybody any advice

    You won't be able to move to a different insurer whilst you have an open claim.

    I'm afraid you are stuck.

    Just to be clear, your current insurer, through the broker, has to offer you renewal terms

    Your broker will still offer you renewal with your current company - thats the catch ,youre stuck with that company until the claim is resolved.

    There is a high risk policy option out there at the moment available through some brokers called xs direct.
    There is a catch though, no benefits, 3000e excess and can only set up with an up front payment. There are more options now but sometimes if you are getting renewal terms, easier to stay with your current insurer..
