The WRC season wraps up this weekend in Australia, and Thierry Neuville's title hopes were snuffed out as Sebastien Ogier retained his crown. However, there's a glimmer of hope - it's on gravel, and over the 7 gravel rallies so far this season, he has picked up 29 more points (excluding power stages) than the champion Ogier, only failing to make the podium once, in Finland. He's won the most gravel rallies this year, so I think he's worth betting €2 e/w to cap the season off successfully @5/1 (1/3 odds for 2nd) with Bet365. If you want a little less risk, Bwin offer evens for him to finish on the podium.

I think he's worth a punt at that price, and that he'll want to cap off 2017 by showing off what might have been had he not cocked up in Singapore. I think the Mercs are vulnerable thanks to that final sector filled with low-speed corners, and the set-up compromise might be too tricky for the "diva" W08.

I badly over-estimated Ferrari this weekend, but at least their old engine powered Wehrlein to 14th, ahead of the Toro Rossos and Ericsson.

I think Bird is a value pick, he finished 4th in the 2016/17 season, and picked up both winner's trophies in the New York double-header.
