    Excellent

How many stops are we expecting?

Ferrari have got lucky with that one. Fair play though.

Noooo! Sky go just stopped working!

Hamilton is really struggling, and I don't think VER is the problem.

I guess we will see if overtaking might be possible this year before end of race

Well played by Ferrari so far

Ah bollocks, missed the stop. Came back in time to see angry Toto - obviously a good sign.

    Ricciardo out.

The on screen graphics have been pants all weekend. It's annoying not being able to see the usual information

    Unlucky for Ricciardos home race

Wonder how Hamilton will react to a challenge from Bottas, hope they let them race

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,990 ✭✭✭Cool_CM

I can't see Mercedes letting Bottas race Lewis - hope I'm wrong!

Edit: Vettel is 8 seconds in front :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,904 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

Kimi is miles off the pace, while he's funny and all I don't think he's that quick anymore.

Well they've already set a tone in the team from how they dealt with the Rosberg / Hamilton relationship. Wouldn't it be bad PR to change that now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,473 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

it would be nice to see Hamilton feeling a bit of pressure from it, a few tense radio messages, even if Bottas isn't going to get by, it's good that the second car can take the race to the assumed number one driver

I can see Bottas being happy enough with third for his first race. Unfortunately overtaking might be difficult in similar cars

Is Hamiltons radio the only one working today? Constant moaning!

He thinks that normal time is stupid and chooses to operate in Kimi-Time instead.

    Great driving by Ocon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,904 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

That was a tasty fight for the last point, hopefully Ocon can keep Hulk behind him now. Alonso drove the wheels off his ****box today shame it ended the way it did.

Anybody else find it a bit weird that the braking zone makers look like red flags?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,473 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

Pity to see Williams so far off the pace

Fastest lap (at the minute) from Vettel on those old softs. Nice.

/Edit: Lost the fastest lap but get in!! Delighted.

Good for F1 to not have a Mercedes win.

Woah fans all over the track while the cars are still coming back to the pits. Somebody will be in trouble

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,990 ✭✭✭Cool_CM

Wow, it's been ages since I've seen spectators let onto the track before the cars are all back in Parc fermé.

Not a great race but good result.

Was going to post the same thing, it's great! :D

The Ferrari looks to have proper pace, please let it be more than just this track.

Boos for Lewis! Did he do anything in particular to upset the Aussies?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,990 ✭✭✭Cool_CM

Mark Webber is probably the only Australian who is happy that Ricciardo isn't on the podium :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,473 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

Crowd not too warm towards Lewis

Did Webber just call Lewis the world champion, I think thats Rosberg, lol

Yeah think he meant a world champion rather than the. :)

Highlight of the race other than the Vettel win was Toto banging on the desk twice in anger at Hamilton losing the lead. Knows they're in a fight now.

    Flouting their road-traffic laws.

    Aussies never forget.

Sky coverage was better than usual. What a difference the absence of Johnny Herbert makes. Keep him in a deep dark hole and send Ted to join him

Aussies love doing burnouts in their Toranas. It's definitely just that he's a dick.

The Ferrari and Mercedes look well matched on pace. Mercedes don't seem to be able to follow cars at all. This could be an interesting season at the front. Whats worrying is how far behind the rest of the pack are. Red Bull weren't close, and next-best Massa was very close to being lapped in 6th place.

The spread in the field was always going to happen when they changed the formula again. The field converges with stable rules, if you change the rules the big teams generally find more advantage because they have the extra resources to run parallel development programs.

Very good indeed, he actually has technical insight unlike so many others.

Not one thing to suggest there will be any possibility of legitimate overtaking this season.

Only overtake in the race was due to Alonso being slower than Hulkenberg and Ocon.

Once the pitstops are finished, thats it race over.

And with no timing info, you couldn't really follow the race, bit of a disaster really.

Felt sorry for Alonso as a point would've been some solace for all of the problems they have had. Despite being underpowered, he did seem to be able to stay ahead of the Force India till the MCL got sick.

Great result for Vettel and hopefully they can maintain the pace throughout the year to stick it good and proper to Hamilton and Mercedes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 574 ✭✭✭ro_chez

And where the hell was Kimi? Ferrari need to get rid and put Giovanazzi in the car.

Didn't hold back in his interview. Basically saying that the car came last and at a normal circuit it would also come last.
