Stamullen - Time for a bypass!

The traffic situation in Stamullen is getting more and more dangerous, especially with the nose to kerb parking configuration mixed in. Of course, a local bypass is contrary to national design guidelines, but the reality is that the situation is a serious accident waiting to happen. There's not enough room for all the different movements (through traffic, visiting traffic, pedestrians, buses and even cyclists) and it's only going to get worse.

BTW, tonight I witnessed pure selfishness on the part of two motorists - one who held up another considerate motorist heading west outside Centra (a passenger partially blocking the road while taking her time to get into a parked car while he waited) with another behind him blaring the horn - really, what has Irish society come to - there's hardly any decency left and the outside world is beginning to see us for who we really are (past abuses like Tuam etc with no-one giving a toss isn't helping our reputation either) - we're becoming Selfish and Impatient Arseholes who care for nothing other than short term pleasure and gratification!!!

With so many self righteous inconsiderate people around, they only answer is to get a bypass done before someone is killed or seriously injured - a road to the north of the village linking up with City North would surely make the most sense - I can't be that complicated! Even with decency, a bypass would be eventually required - a type 3 single carriageway (7m pavement) would suffice.

    Time to get this sorted!
