Public Consultation Paper Tax and Fiscal Treatment of Landlords

I shall write my submission so that my conscience will be satisfied. A lot of people that complain about unfair taxes on small landlords in this forum should email at least small submission to taxpolicy@finance.gov.ie with "Tax and Fiscal Treatment of Landlords Consultation" stated in the subject line in order to contribute their tiny bit to the public debate, better that not submitting anything and continue to moan on this forum.

However I am very skeptical about the purpose and results of this consultation. Given the track record of current Irish govvie, I doubt it is going to lead to anything good for landlords, this article comes to mind about vacant tax:

which might be the only thing coming out of this "public consultation". It reminds me of other recent blatant lies of Coveney and his associates in November 2016:

It is a lot of cobblers. The purpose is declared to be keeping accidental landlords in the game. It is nonsense. there is going to be a conclusion that there is no point in doing it. This is being doe so as to be seen doing something but there is an intention not to do anything.
