Just heard an ad for today's Newstalk Drive programme - it mentioned a discussion in today's consumer slot about electric cars and value for money - Title: "How do you keep your electric car humming and are they good value for money?"

Perhaps I'm a pessimist but I can't see it being any good. The research and misinformation in most EV articles is usually shockingly bad.

Unfortunately true but if there were enough tweets (or texts) to highlight the inevitable inaccuracies and bad research they might eventually get it right.. or maybe I'm being a bit too optimistic :)

The usual...people who didn't know the subject matter well enough to have a substantive discussion.

The only comments read were the typical misinformed ones, unchallenged and stated as fact, e.g. that EVs need replacement batteries after 5 years costing €10,000. I would've expected the 'expert' guest to mention warranties, cost savings, and the experiences of high milage EV drivers but instead she responded by talking about high depreciation.
