    Is he done?

Met the lads up there just before seven. Was at 7800m at that stage. No shortage of support!

Just after leaving him. Finished around 9:30 slightly over the mark.

    Fair play!

Alek, you're a lunatic. I tip my cap to you and your effort today. There's very few around here that can claim to have conquered Everest.

Well done Alek on a fantastic achievement.

Well done! That is some achievement. And by "some achievement" I really mean "contains more nuts than a Cadburys Fruit & Nut bar".

Well done Alek - didn't realise this was today and I'm on the doorstep. Would have brought you up celebratory cake (and could have given you a lift home)

Been following from the West Coast, a performance and a half, massive massive well done Alek. A friend called in earlier and I said to him that I needed to check on some nut job who was Everesting and he said he'd been following you too - you're a legend :).

You have to commend the support that total strangers give each other here on Boards too. Well done to all involved :)

Well done, Alek. Really awesome stuff. I'd congratulate you if only I had the right words.

You couldn't be more right. Alek had great support from boardsies all day. When I went back up in the evening,Alek was the first one I seen descending and I got a bit worried as I seen nobody for 10 or more seconds. Then 6 guys followed him down. Once I seen that I knew he would complete it.

Crazy or not, I don't know if this ride could have been finished, or finished in such a great mood, without all the people who were there and those supporting me telepathically. I was just doing my mundane and pointless job, but you were actually great.

Big big big THANK YOU FOLKS!!!! You have managed to turn this ordeal into fun. Of sorts.

    :D

Am I reading the everesting.cc website correctly when I say you're only the 13th person to Everest , Alex?
