    Hi,

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to buy a second hand Leaf in Ireland?

Should I stick with main dealers or are their good reputable specialists out there?

If you check on Done Deal you will find an EV dealer. Is there a reason you are restricting your search to Ireland? What are you looking for (trim level, year, budget)?

Donedeal privately if you know what you are looking at.
Phil in Electric Autos in Kildare is very well know and very active on the forums and FB pages.
UK if you fancy the spin

Just thought Ireland would be easier than heading to the UK. How big are the savings in the UK? Looking for an SVE 6.6 about 3 years old.

That's exactly what I purchased 2 weeks ago. The savings are circa 2k for a 3 year old. To make that sort of saving, you need to get a cheap flight to collect the car yourself and get a cheap day on the ferry.

I chose to bring the wife and stay a night, so the savings were less, but it was more than just a pick up.

Phil Fitzgerald has a very good reputation and has sold plenty if EVs already. He can source the car you are looking for or just select from his current stock. He has 4 Leafs and an iMiev atm as far as I know...
He is based in Naas, co. Kildare

+1 for Phil. He's great to deal with in regards to most things EV.

If you're insistant on a 6.6 SVE (or Tekna as it's called in the UK), then your choice is going to be severely limited in Ireland. Did a quick check on carsireland and carzone and only came across one that was SVE and 6.6kW - and even then, it was older than what you wanted - 2013 (which would most likely mean it's gen. 1.0 rather than 1.5)

Even in the UK, you will struggle to get exactly what you want (Naturally, there's a smaller pool of Leaf's than there would be for any ICE - so less choice) - but you stand a hell of a better chance than buying in Ireland. Furthermore, you should be able to save yourself some money - so long as you can afford the time. If you're self employed and up the walls/time poor, then perhaps it's worthwhile to try and source in Ireland. If not- and you can afford to take a day or two off work - then you should take a cheap ryanair into whichever corner of the UK you need to - and drive it back.

If it suits you, the Liverpool - Dublin ferry (mid week) is cheap as chips.

I don't think the OP will struggle to be honest.

I bought in June 2015 and had an even more picky check list.

Tekna, 6.6 charger, magnetic red, 1 year old, more than 5k miles but less than 10k. Checking in England I found my car in about a week.

2 years later if you're looking for a 14 car I'd say there are much more around than when I was looking for a year old car.

6.6 kW is only in Mk1.5

Are you sure? Here's a 2013 Tekna (presumably Feb 2013 or sooner because that's the MOT date). It's definitely a 6.6 shown in the photos

The A/C console would suggest it is 1.5 indeed...

I'm not the expert, but 1.5 Gen only came out in the second half 2013 did it not? To me, this suggests that 1st gen (according to this model) had 6.6kw OBC available. Or maybe I am missing something. I'm sure more knowledgeable folk will confirm.

Like @goz83, I didnt think that was the case either. I thought it was an optional extra in the Gen 1 too.

Gen 1.5 came out in March 2013 I believe.
During my search I nearly bought a few 2013 models and the Sunderland plant start making them in March.

Learn something new everyday.... seems the 6.6kW OBC was only in the Gen 1.5 then.

Yup, he could fair out just like you or it could take a little longer. Either way, he stands a hell of a better chance of getting what he wants by shopping the UK market rather than the Irish market (not saying he should ignore the latter - of course, it goes without saying that he should check what's available on it also).
