    Hi,

I have EIR coming to install FFTH Fibre next week and their technician was at the house today. He said that some households want their Eir hardware (the ONT and the ODP) and the modem kept in the attic and others want the EIR boxes left in the attic and the modem brought down into the house.

I'd like the modem in the living room and then run a wireless network from there using TP plugs etc. Can I ask what must seem like a silly question:confused:?

Would an electrician be the person to ask to install an Ethernet cable down from the attic through an existing wall conduit which houses a defunct TV aerial cable? Is this something that an electrician does? Can you get Ethernet cable that can be pulled through this type of conduit and then be fitted to an Ethernet wall plate?

    Any advice gratefully received.

    D.

Depends on the electrician but it shouldnt pose much issue for any spark.

    Agreeed with the above

Also just as a quick note, if you start adding electrical devices into your attic make sure you fit a smoke detector up there.
