Building my first gaming desktop

    1. What is your budget? €1000

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Probably

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No

    5. Do you need a monitor? No

    5a. If yes, what size do you need.

    5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? I don't know the resolution.

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? Keyboard/Mouse/Speakers

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? I don't know what that is.

    8. How can you pay? Debit Card

    9. When are you purchasing? Christmas

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? South Dublin

    It depends a lot on how much you can / will spend for it, if you can post it here people can help you better.

    As a last remark, there is a template with some basic questions in the important threads section that can help you provide the community all the info needed for helping you.

    If you won't be buying it until Christmas, there's no point in speccing something out now. Odds are components will have changed completely by then.

    It might be an idea to do some research about some of the things you seem unsure about - monitor resolution, overclocking, etc. - in the meantime, and you'll have a better idea what you want by then.
