Solicitor asking for more than agreed!

Say one signs a form for x amount for a solicitor to look after a personal injury claim for a car accident. An offer was made but rejected. Where do I stand with this. She is looking after one of my kids personal injury claim also but I'm seriously considering changing solicitors now because of this.
