Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Clarifying transaction charges on student debit account?

    Hello,

I received a student debit card last week from BOI. I see that there are fees and charges that apply which can range from €3.00 to €11.00 on a current account.

Is this for EVERY transaction that one makes with their card i.e (withdrawing money from the ATM each time)? If so how much would be charged on my balance?

    Good Afternoon jeanjolie,

Thank you for getting in touch with us here.

May I just clarify if your account is a 2nd level or 3rd level account?

    Thanks,
    Elaine

I believe that it's a third level account.

    Thanks Jeanjolie,

With a 3rd level Student account you will not be charged fees on day to day banking transactions for the duration of your studies. You can find a full list of these concession services here

The €3 to €11 fees I believe you're referring to related to the cross border handing fees. These are applicable to this account if you use your card outside of the Euro currency zone. You will not be charged for Visa Debit point of sale, ATM and contactless transactions made in euro within the EU and EEA. This information and more is displayed on page 14 in your fees and charges brochure here

I hope this helps clarify this for you and if I can help with anything else, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Elaine
