Congrats Excited!!! Strange the GP never mentioned it, it was the first thing we were told about and while she doesn't remind you all the time they ask, also in the hospital if you have got it.. Anywho sure go make the app...
Kinda the same as you unplanned first, little girl!! Cant wait due on the 11th..

Was so uncomfortable last night just cant sleep, she is kicking like mad.. Poistioned differently aswell like she is behind my belly or something...Hands are sore and my left wrist for some reason feels like I whacked it off something.. After that all is good to go.. ****e day here today so going up to go through a pile of things friends passed onto us. I must say I am so greetfull at how sharing this couple have been. They have given us so much, makes it all easier..

Milly have you got Carpal Tunnel maybe in your hands? Im suffering with one of my hands, but i got the Splint which i wear at night and it's really helping.

I sent off my maternity Benefit form today. Do you get confirmation back from them or what way does it work?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,651 ✭✭✭Milly33

I was thinking that at the start Andreac but not sure it is,as I haven't got any pins n needles with it, and the soreness is in just one hand.. Going to the GP on Wens and shall see what she says.. Noticed more skin tags too on the belly driving me mad...

Cant advise on the maternity but just wondering when applying for it, do you just put down your presumed due date. I wasn't going to apply as I am not working, but have been trying to find work but really who is going to hire me now. So the lady in the intreo office said I may actually apply for the benefit as I worked for 2 weeks..

Just got my Flu jab. Was grand. She was saying it's the Tetanus in the Whooping Cough one that makes your arm quite sore.

I had both at the same time but they put one in each arm. Flu jab arm was grand, but the whooping cough arm had swelling and tenderness at the injection site for about 5 days after. Apparently that was to be expected, and it certainly wasn't debilitating or anything, just a pain in the arse if I accidentally whacked off the tender bit :pac:

Had my 32 weeks scan today. Baby is measuring big so they are doing the gestational diabetes test. Really don't know why they don't just test everyone. Baby is also breech. Still have time but just feel it will be a c section for me. Anyone else have their 32 week scan?

I sent mine 4 weeks ago and havent had any correspondence from them at all. Do I need to follow uo do you think? Done it online as thought that was the quickest way.

    God luck tomorrow!

Yeah I'd give them a ring at this stage in case you need to resubmit or did you get an email confirmation? Maybe you get that instead of the text when doing it online?

In the middle of the glucose test now, eek!

Well im a bit of a disaster at the mo :-(

Got bloods taken last week and few issues going on which i need to talk to my consultant about. Ive high white cell count which could indicate some sort of infection going on, my Cholesterol is high which is down to my diet i presume (which hasn't been that great lately to be honest).

Then my iron is low too along with some Thyroid issue. Not sure exactly what way the Thyroid thing is and what affect it's having on me.

Then i have to have a tooth pulled or Root Canal so im just not in a good place at the moment, aaahhhh.

Pregnancy makes cholesterol high, it shouldnt be tested during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Babies need cholesterol for brain development.

Oh really? I didn't know that. He just ran a full bloods and i suppose that was one result that was on it along with all the others.

This is why i want to chat to my consultant properly about it as im sure there are some issues brought on by pregnancy etc.

Thanks for letting me know :)

Mine too, Im ok with the idea of a section if its needed, Im not going to stress about it. How do you feel about it? They say 95% will have turned by 36 weeks so there is still time.

Are you private or why are you getting a 32 week scan? I dont think thats standard? We have booked in for a private 3D scan on Friday, they freak me out a bit as the baby looks melted but will go for a look!

Didnt get email confirmation but I did screenshot everything so will give them a buzz and see. How did the test go?

You poor thing Andrea, horrible to have so much extra going on. I had a root canal done at 17 weeks, was rotten but I got through it after years of getting knocked out for the dentist so you will be fine!

I had assumed they'd do a quick scan at every appointment going forward to check the position of the baby? Is this not the case?

If you are private then yes, or if you have diabetes they do growth scans but otherwise I dont think so.

They know from feel what way the baby is lying and imagine if they arent sure they will scan then?

Think im just going to get it out. It's near the back so won't be seen and i just can't imagine getting a root canal done, plus the cost as well is mental

Ahh, I see. I still can't figure out how they know what bit of the baby they are poking when they are feeling the bump. I've tried myself and don't have a clue. Practice makes perfect I guess.

I think they distinguish between head and bum as the bum is softer!

I think scan/no scan varies hospital to hospital. At mine you get a scan at every appointment.

I asked a student midwife this a few weeks ago while she was examining me and she said "well this is a shoulder, so the other shoulder is there and this is the back". I nearly heaved! Like, I know there is a baby in there but the idea of shoulders and things just made me feel yuck!

Oh Andreac, you need a day for you!!! Go spoil yourself or arrange a nice girly day.. A lot to be going though hopefully all will sort itself, or what as such do you have to do..

Pregnancy is just so weird the things it effects.. Was at the GP today so all is good. The little miss is in position head down.. I was wondering if she had moved as one day it felt like she was sideways, and the kicks are getting very like high jogs at the moment but high up in the belly.. I noticed in the last few days that my lower belly feels less tight, was thinking maybe that is because the head is lower... Asked about the wrist and tisnt carpel tunnel anyway must just keep an eye on it..

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,000 ✭✭✭andreac

Yeah i need a pamper day. Got myself a voucher at the baby fair last weekend, for a salon based in Swords that specialise in pregnancy massages etc, as they have a special table so you don't have to lie on your side. I was going to wait until i have finished up work to go but i might go before that.

Yeah hopefully all can be sorted out easy enough. Feel exhausted today but it's prob a combo of everything going on.

I feel like im getting movement/kicks right up high, feels diff than the other ones down lower.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,651 ✭✭✭Milly33

Do go for it now!! Might help you I don't want to say relax but just shut off for a little bit.. Sounds heavenly... Then at least you know if they are good you can book another for when you finish work!!!

I was just watching videos there at 31 weeks and tis mad the movements, they must be little legs kicks up high.. I love the shimmy movements as if they are doing a little wiggle

Hi there I'm public and had a scan at 12 weeks and wasn't seen by the hospital again til this week at 32 went privately for the anomaly. They did this one as a growth scan and as he is breech I'm back again in 4 weeks to check his positioning so they can make a call on c section etc. He's also measuring big! Not overly worried about a section if I'm going to be scheduled in early I'd like to leave work is my only issue lol

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,514 ✭✭✭bee06

Still loads of time for baby to turn Geez. My doctor said breech is nothing to worry about until at least 35 weeks.

No phone call today so assuming I passed the GD test!

Into 2weekly appointments now! It'll start to fly from here on in:)

Oh that is a lot going on Andreac, try take it easy and def book that massage!!

Lots of time for babies to turn yet! I'm opting for a section this time round (emergency section after failed induction last time), so it's really not that bad at all if it does come to it! Have a look at spinning babies website and positions to try to move baby:)
