    I'm looking for some advice on building a patio. Say I want to build a 12ft by 12ft. I've already dug a lot of the garden as the whole thing needs re-doing. I've dug an area larger than 12ft by 12ft.

    How do I keep the foundation to the right area? The rest will be refilled with soil and a lawn sown.

    Do I lay the area out with wood and fill inside with hardcore etc. Then soil outside to the same level?
