will be tilling and sowing on Saturday - going with Barley and Linseed as I have done for the past 2 years.

Will get a min tilling - possibly disking maybe and then will shake the seed with the fertiliser shaker.

Would I get away without rolling it? I have rolled it to date but have silage for doing Saturday and time is very tight.

No panic with the WBC as sowing date has been extended to 16th June so you can concentrate on the silage

I'd imagine it b a disaster as the birds would eat it straight away but you could argue it's for them anyway.

    I'll b rolling mine anyway

My crop wbc hasn't quite failed but hasn't quite taken off either, barley seed all taken by crows, Linseed very light due to drought and a lot o grass coming through now due to the recent rain, should I re do it with some sort of brassica mix or should I just chance it and hope for the best in an inspection?

Mine has done poorly as well, in reality I expect no seed from either the Linseed or the Barley to ever come, if a blackbird can hide in it, it will be a success.

The patches where it was very poor I scattered fodder radish seeds, it is a fast growing plant and germinates quick, there was also some fodder rape thrown about as well.

It is coming and fleshes out the field.

It is a pity from a wild life perspective around here, as there was some late frosts in May and they did wreck on fruit and haws etc. The drought also played its part. They'll have sweet fup all this year.

Fodder Rape should still grow from setting now, enough to make it look ok anyway, would want the broken ground though.
