Recently moved into a new rented apartment and am looking to put a vertical garden on the balcony. Have a ladder shelf (bathroom shelf) that I'm going to place planted window boxes on. So I've a couple of questions

2) what flowers should I plant? Would like alot of colour and some flowers that hang over side of box
3) love smell of lavender will this grown in the boxes?

The balcony does get decent amount of sunlight btw. Thanks in advance
